I Just Purchased My First Mustang - 1978 Mustang II

Hey everyone,

I just purchased a 1978 mustang II with 129k on it. It hasen't been driven in about 5 years and there is that old gas in the tank. Most people tell me to get some octane boost and but some supreme gas into it. Any suggestions? I"m not mechanically inclined )...

Will post pics of my new ride soon

Thanks

5 year old fuel needs to be drained out. Drain the tank and then add fresh fuel. Do an oil change also. A car that has sat that long may develop leaks as you get her back on the road, I would expect some problems.

Once you do get her on the road, drive slowly for a while to get things up to temp and circulated. Congrats on the car and best of luck to you!!

oil change and trans fluid have been changed already. It's the 2.8l 6 cyl. Once I get it safety inspected this week, I hope to get it to an auto shop to have the interior detailed and get them to look at the rocker panels on each side as that's the only place on the whole car that the paint it flaking off.
