It doesn't have to be hard. I love what I do, I'm my own boss, work outdoors, don't work many hours.

Wow that's cool. How recent was that. I always wanted to meet him and some of the Mustang Icons. The only person I ever got to meet so far was Steve Saleen. What a nice guy and that was after he started the SMS company.

That's cool man. I love working Outdoors. I wish I could do it more often.

I assume the wear is from the throwout bearing? There must have been pilot bearing issues into the flywheel also? Were there shifting issues/binding from that?

Yeah WTH is with that. It does look like it is welded on.

This is what the input shaft sleeve looks like, looks fantastic.
Dude if the input shaft itself isn't screwed, that sleeve is a cheap and easy fix. Looks like the TOB seized. Easy to repair if you have a rack to drop the trans.

I'm not following - since when is there a "sleve" over the input shaft? All my "back in the day" trans were just the input shaft, with splines, and pilot bearing. The TOB rode on the input shaft.

I think you should try and call him on the phone and see what he says. I know you said you sent Emails and got no response. But I would make a phone call.

Oh If you or anyone need parts. I have a good friend that works for a Ford dealer on Long Island. He will most likely get you stuff cheaper then other dealers would.

The T56 has a sleeve. And it can be a problem if the bearing goes out. It's better than chewing up the shaft though.

So how is the sleeve lubricated? Seems like potential for noise. Just grease? Close tolerance or some slop?
And are there issues that the TOB isn't direct on the shaft?

This was just in November at the SEMA show. I took photos with Jack Roush, Vaughn Gittin Jr, tanner foust, Jamie Allison, and Kenny brown.

I also have pics of chip foose as well.

This was at the Ford Conference at SEMA in Las Vegas. He was looking pretty tired.

Yup. Just grease. And the trans has to be pulled to grease it. A good TOB is important. The Ford Racing TOB seems like the only one holding up. Mine is making a little noise so probably only a matter of time.
