I just dont wanna buy a whole bunch of expensive gear, and then not like it, but I suppose i could resell the stuff? idk, I'll look into it a little more. either way, I've always wanted to snowboard, I cant wait

Nope, nor skiing. I'm probably one of the only people in MN who has never been skiing. I hate snow though, so I don't really care.

There are a lot of shops/stores out there that sell used snowboards and boots. My step daughter is just starting to get into snowboarding and for christmas last year her granfather (who is an avid skiier) bought her a used beginner board and bindings. We got her some pants, a jacket and her lift ticket for the year. We have some stores around in my area called Play it Again Sports that sell all kinds of used sports equipment. I'm sure if you call the resort where you will be snowboarding they could give you some ideas of where to look for used equipment.

Sorry to hear about your friend Ed "Why" is always the question. My husband lost his 5 year old daughter to cancer in 1992 and he still asks "why" every day.
