now Joe.
as i recall, canadians won gold in the olympics for hockey in 2010 against their opponent (the US).. Also yet again we beat you in 2002. As for hockey being a bad sport, there is more action in 5 mins of a hockey game than a 90 min soccer game and the fans only get excited when the ball accidentally lands "close" to the net with the occasional lucky break where it rolls in. Hockey is a very fluid game and high paced whereas baseball and football have so many stops and plain and simple are just static games. Baseball players spend at least half the game sitting on the bench chewing tabacco waiting for their name to be called to go up and swing a bat a few times, then they go and stand out in a field the other half of the game. Athletes play hockey where bums who have nothing better to do but stand around hoping a ball comes to them are baseball players.. Sorry but baseball is laaaaaame

You must not have ever been to a really good baseball game. No hockey game I've ever been to has lived up to one of those games.

well, if there's 15 teams in each league, that's a max of 7 same league series at once, that leaves one team out for each league. Will they play each other throughout the season or will they just keep the interleague schedule compacted to 2 months, and have teams taking 3 days off every so often?
So, Ms. Canada...Leafs fan? Girl in my news writing class was from Toronto, went to see her beloved Leafs play my Hurricanes...when she came back on Monday, I had to do a Jezza Clarkson and go "loooser!" haha

hockey can be tremendously exciting if the matchup is good and the score is close. I think close baseball games are more exciting simply due to the fact that you never know what will happen next, and with hockey you can somewhat anticipate whats going to happen.

hockey is continuously a fast paced game, even line changes are fast! baseball players stand around waiting the run after a ball (which they usually dont have to run much for). now dont even get me started with talent. baseball requires no talent other than swinging a bat at the right time, which we all know a child can do... hockey requires a combination of stick handling, puck moving abilities and on top of it SKATING, not running(well jogging really, baseball players dont run anywhere). now baseball players can chew multiple seeds at once but thats pretty much all they got going for them in that sense. hockey is much more of a physically demanding game, hitting, skating, stoping starting. sitting on the bench and ball scratching are not physically demanding and that is why 99.9% of baseball players have a gut, hockey players are tight and toned because they are constantly using EVERY muscle in their bodies, not just their mouth.

hockey is definitely more physical, but it's pretty well universally known and agreed to by pro athelets that hitting a major league pitcher is the hardest thing to do in sports. The sheer time factors of it all are simply astonishing.
60'6" isn't very far when you get a guy throwing 95mph. Add in a bit of movement to the pitch, and it's nearly impossible to hit. That being said, one mistake by the pitcher can completely change a game.

I'm not really a fan of Target Field either. Thought the old stadium was much cooler!

hockey players can shoot the puck at an AVERAGE speed of 87mph and has exceeded 100mph even, so blocking a shot or receiving a pass(not to mention stoping a shot from an athlete trained to shoot at bare net) how difficult it is. as for skating hockey players can skate about 45km/h, and i can guarantee you that your baseball players cant come even close to that speed.
Not to say that hockey isn't a very active sport but a hockey team runs 3 lines for offense for a 20 minute period, that's a playing time of 6 minutes and some change per period per player. oh and next time you watch a hockey game, count ALL the stoppages, you will be surprised.

It aint louder than the home of my Carolina Hurricanes!

Carolina's fans are said to have set the record for decibels generated by a crowd at an American sporting event. The Hockey News reported 134 decibels measured during Game 7 of the 2006 Stanley Cup Finals against the Edmonton Oilers. This unofficial reading has never been surpassed before or since

i play rep hockey i know there are stoppages, but compared to a baseball game (which seems like it is at a standstill ALL the time) it seems like nothing. as for 3 lines that play, what about the 2 main pitchers, only 3-5 good hitters and the rest are just fill ins.. they spend half the game sitting on the bench and then when theyre out in the field(if they even play that position) theyre waiting for the ball to come to them.
obviously you prefer baseball over hockey hahaha and i much rather watch hockey than baseball so you want to agree to disagree so i can get some shut eye? i have a hockey game tmrrw hahahahaa!!
