Thought this was kind of cool last night. I'm used to bats scarfin skeeters at night when I feed horses. They're small about the size of my hand and never harass me so I don't mind em. I do sometimes hear this kind of zoom sound over the stallion paddocks - like a bigger one is banking tight like an F16, but never seen em to know exactly what that zzzoooommm is.
So anyway, last night I'm in the garage where I'm building my office. Both doors are open still so anything can fly in. I'm on a deck of plywood on open floor joists with the laptop hard wired to the hughes modem. Its pretty dark and all I can see is the dusky sky through the trees out the office picture window. Which means the light of the laptop screen is drawing bugs. A few moths are hitting the window and naturally a few skeeters and other bugs.
So the first guy I see watching over me is a skeeter hawk. He's flying in front of the screen a few times keeping the skeeters away.
Then I hear wings flapping as a bat swoops in for those moths! I swear I thought I felt some wind from the wings once or twice. I tried not to move so his radar wouldn't pick me up and just sat in silence listening. Mostly too dark to see though I caught a glimpse a few times as he flew near the window for those moths. But I could hear him dive bombing this way and that getting a meal.
Thought it was pretty cool that a skeeter hawk and a bat had my back as I worked away rather than having to swat at mosquitos.

Laptop is working about 50% better after all the updates, removing unused programs, scans, registry cleaner, defrag & chkdsk, bit dell is still a piece of slow butt stuff. Easily 25+% slower than my hp/compaq. I'll never buy another dell.

Also finally installed the radiator extensions on the Bullitt. They really do give a finished look. But I thought the fit was kind of lousy. One has a 3/8" gap, the other has a 3/8 - 1/2" gap and you can see the tang that slips under the factory piece through the gap. I was expecting like a flush fit or no more than 1/4". Not impressed for the money they get for that silly plastic.

Cleaned. Busy trying to finish painting now. Don't think I'll finish before school starts.

Freaking out about school. It's taking everything I have to not drop all my classes. It's like time is running out before I have to go to prison and I can't do everything I need/want to before I'm stuck in a cell the rest of my life.

I've been thinking about getting them too, but I'm not sure I have enough room with where my K&N sits. I'm thinking even with gaps it has to look better than nothing there as it sits now.

I basically have done the same thing and now I will be close to 30 when I graduate. It sucks, I wish I had just buckled down 6 years ago and got it done. Finish it up bud and then take a break.
