What's so bad about $100? I really don't understand anything to do with taxes.

Another runaway defective Toyota?

Nope. Just another idiot driver. Oregon seems to breed 'em.

Accidental acceleration sends car over parking garage wall

By Steve Beaven, The Oregonian

April 07, 2010, 10:45AM

Portland police said a car plummeted from a downtown parking garage this morning but there were no injuries.

The incident happened in the area of Southwest 6th and Salmon, according to police spokeswoman Det. Mary Wheat.

The motorist accidentally hit the accelerator instead the brake and tumbled over a wall. The driver was not injured and no one was in the parked cars the vehicle hit.

I use Turbo Tax. Just fill in the right numbers and away you go. Yours would be real simple.

I just finished mine now but will review it tomorrow too and add a small deduction to save a few dollars. Gotta pay $4481 between federal and state. That hurts.

Wait what ? For working too much in 2009 or what that doesn't make sense isn't it work paying someone $50.00 for possibly saving more

I was collecting unemployment for 9 months of 2009. No taxes is taken out of it so I have to pay it at the end of the year. Plus I had a 401k withdrawal that I have to pay taxes on and a penalty, so that adds up.

So much for my 2011 Mustang fund!

It sucks that the government give you unemployment money, then takes some of it back in taxes.

Yeah that's yet another government scam. When you need the 'safety net' they shouldn't reduce the needed benefit by taxing it.

In essence its double taxation. First the Fed & State taxed wage earners & employers to fund the programs. Then they tax you again for receiving it.

Fire every last one of them and lets start over.

As an accounting major, I will here respectfully input the fact that using an actual accountant will get you a much better return than some computer program, or anything that's "free". There's a reason they get paid so much...
there's no way any program can keep up with all the tax law changes. Hell, even the head of the IRS doesnt do his own taxes, he has an accountant do it.

that's not the only place double taxation comes in...when businesses post profits at the end of the year, they're taxed on those, and then taxed on payments to employees. the only major "break" they give businesses is the fact that, if you post a loss for the year, you can carry that loss about back 2 years, or forward 20, to offset any profits against taxes, so it lowers your amount of taxes. however, the caveat to that is this: if you're doing bad enough to post a major loss, (previously) you wouldnt be in business long enough to take advantage of that allowance
