Didn't really know where to put this since the site has changed so much so I asked KC and he suggested here, so here we are. Didn't want to keep posting stuff in other people's threads so I'll try to keep it here. More to come.

As most of the old timers on here know, I've been a lifelong Mustang lover and Ford man, Ford family, have had at least one in the family my whole life basically. Have had many through the years through the Fox era to present. New, stock, modded, built, and overbuilt a couple times.
Got a little older and could get better stuff so when the 197 came out I was hooked. 08 GT CS, 08 SGT, 11 GT 500 SVT PP. Went quite a few years without one after I got rid of the 11. When the 20 came out I was gobsmacked with it, but it was a lot more car than the 11. Was hesitant, thought looking used in a few years, but when I saw what the prices were doing and found out 22 would be the last one I decided to bite the bullet and for the first time order one exactly like I wanted.

I finally decided to just jump in, last chance and get the last GT 500 and best one to date. Well that didn't go like I planned. COVID. Ordered it Dec 1st 21, never could get updates on much from Ford Performance, just it's in the system. 6 months later, still no updates. Of course it was a very specific order, outside of the regular production cars they were making. 8 months and nothing, knew the production was winding down on these cars, last ones. By September 22 I had given up on ever getting it. Basically just wrote it off.
November of 22 I get a call from the dealership, it's going to be coming today. Had already told them from the beginning I don't want it touched. Don't wash, detail, etc leave it like it is (already been through a bad experience with a dealership on the 11 washing it).
So I ended up letting them put on the oil separator (handling package) and the front splitter. Drove it home in plastic wrappers with pieces inside, lol.
Haven't got many good pics yet but this was from delivery.

Little more about what I decided to order, since it's the first one I've ordered and probably the last one I'll buy.
The carbon track pack looks amazing but there was just too much that worried me and things I knew would make it less enjoyable. The wheels for one. Love them to look at, wouldn't have them to drive. From what I hear they're over 4k, each, and with carbon fiber a curb rash on the finish would ruin the structural integrity, not something you want on something this powerful and fast.
Second was the seats. Only seats in the cftp are the Recaros. They're thin, tight fitting and manual. That doesn't work for an old man built like me, hard enough to get in it to begin with. Got used to the memory, power, heated and cooling seats in the Jeep, had to have that. So this is what I ended up with....

Thanks Rocky, trying to get it out more and get a few more decent pics. Had a lot going on and the weather has been crazy here. Thunder storms everyday and I don't get it out with that threat. Hail, high winds blowing limbs and trees, etc. Don't want to get caught in one when it's clear and sunny when I leave, 10 miles away it's like a hurricane in one spot.

Getting more miles on it now and had something happen yesterday that hasn't happened before. Was at about 40mph, clicked it down to second and matted it. Everything on, all the nannies, it wiggled a little for a second and the TC briefly kicked in and hooked, but about 75 or so towards the top of second headed to 8k RPM it got so loose the TC kicked in again. Dang! Tells me it would have lit the tires at 75-80 in second gear with TC off. I've had fast cars, a lot of them, with less tire. There's no way this car is making what it's rated at to do that. Not to mention it was a good road, and it was hot out.

Thanks Tony. You should get yours out more.
said the kettle to the pot.
About the same here this summer. I don't drive these in the rain unless something freaky happens. Got caught out 1 time in the GT CS, twice in the SGT and the weirdest one was the 11 500. No rain in the forecast, sunny out, only went about 15-20 minutes from the house. Half way back it starts raining like crazy for about 1/4 mile and just stops soon as it started. Not a drop on the road rest of the way home. Freaky.

Trust me Lee, I know first-hand exactly where you're coming from when it comes to having a lot going on when it concerns trying to get mine out more as well... Also, it has mostly rained here during most of the summer here and like yourself, I also don't like getting caught in a downpour, especially just right after washing/detailing the Mustang in preparation for heading out to a car cruise in or car show lol.

I drove mine home in a downpour for 115 miles. She drove absolutely fine the whole way. It was just me that was hot under the collar.
