I find this to be a reasonable improvement on the stock GT,
-love the wheels
-redesigned hood
-i like the blacked out front grill ALOT

-but not for 73k .
-don't need the body colored b pillars (yuk)
-PLEASE redesign the headlight assembly
-redesign the tail lights too while they're at it

The overall look and appeal is good. i'd give it a serious look for 55, but not 73.

Maybe if they had the Rocket taillights (blackout cept for the face) i think it would be a very sharp look. Never really was a fan of blacking out one of the tri-bar segments. To me it kinda takes away from the Mustang nameplate

Finally a 2015 Mustang that looks good! The shortened front end fixes the lines of the car.

I agree converting the tri-bar taillights to a bi-bar gets away from mustang heritage...but I can see why Saleen did it to be more in line with his signature two band stripe. $73 grand is a lot, true. With all the mods I'd do to it, it'll cost me close to $100,000. But it'll be my own one-of-a-kind car. A guy can dream.

Oooooooooooo glass roof
Wonder if that takes away from the structural rigidity or not. It would sure add weight up too though which may detract from hard cornering capability

Exactly what I said to myself. Although, I do like the GT350 and GT350R as well.

730 horsepower for 73 thousand may not be all that bad a deal considering Ford is not offering anything with that much power.

Rocky,

I have owned a Saleen Supercharged Mustang in years past.

Here is what took place with me when I went to trade it in.

It was still like it came off the showroom floor of an Authorized Saleen Ford Dealership.

I was going to trade it back to same dealer that I had purchased all my Mustangs from.
So we knew one another very well ......

I wanted the then High H/P Saleen with the built engine.
A very expensive Mustang for sure but since I liked the one I had I thought, what the heck I'll do it and not worry about cost.

Well when I called my contact and he talked to his management this is what he came back with.
(Keep in mind the Saleen I had was like new and no-miles on it)

Terry I talked it over with our guys and they are going to see what the "Whole-sellers" we deal with will put in it.

My instant response was, so you guys don't want your own Saleen back and you think I am going to foot the cost of another higher dollar Saleen.
I have something you can share with your guys.
I'll dump this Saleen and take the hit on it.
You guys are PATHETIC ..........

So what's my point here ???
Anyone that is crazy enough to buy a Saleen anything better be ready for a LOSS they want even believe when they go to trade or sell it.

The above is from 1st hand experience when Saleen was in it's Heyday guys ..........

Yep, same with Roush or any other tuner car. Just build them yourself (which is what you did with your Bullitt!).

Hello Patrick,

Your exactly correct on all the Tuner Mustangs or any other Tuner Car really.
When one buys one of them they better be prepared to do one of two things.
Trade or sell it and take a Major-Hit ........
Or keep it !!!

I decided as you know this last time around to do my own thing.
So when I ordered the 2008 Bullitt Mustang I intended to keep it.
I also decided I'll make this Bullitt what I think it should be.

That was for looks & performance.

I like my choice as it has worked out very well.

I love your Bullitt (you still have the Saleen supercharger on it right?)...it is just a beautiful beast. One of my favorite modified Mustangs ever. Part of me used to be torn, as I think you got WAY away from the intended heritage of the Bullitt, but then I'd say that's Ford's fault for not offering DHG as a standard color. Again, I absolutely love your car. It's one of the ones that will always stick in my mind and when we're old, it will get mentioned to my grand kids haha! "I remember back in the 2000s, this guy built this absolutely wicked Bullitt...."

Patrick,

The Saleen Super Shaker set-up has been replaced like a couple of years ago.
I loved the looks of it and the way it sounded.
But it was at it's limit with that build.
So it was replaced and a bunch of other changes to it since that older set-up.

I'll see if I can pick some more recent photos of it.
They want be right up to date but very close.
I'm suppose to pick it up at Brenspeed on April 18th next month with all the recent changes.

Patrick, I thought you might like to see what it has been turned into.

Those rear tires more than likely ain't gonna hold it your right.

I'll try to remember to post the new pictures after I get it back.

Terry ! I couldn't agree more with everything you posted and to be honest with you, I'm not in the least bit surprised either.. As every time I tried to contact someone in Saleen's tech support dept regarding advice such as locating parts for my Saleen supercharger, I would always end up getting somebody's voice mail inbox and despite all the messages I left, nobody ever bothered to return any of them.. So needless to say that after 6 months, I finally got fed up and gave up..

So I'll just close by saying that if this is how Saleen truly values their customers ? Then it's no wonder why they have one foot in the grave and are that much closer to extinction and if anyone is foolish enough to spend 73k for a Saleen that's more than likely not going to around for very long ? Good luck on getting a return back on that 73k investment you forked over to a now defunct company

Hello Herbert,

Thanks for the compliments on the Bullitt Mustang.

Hey buddy believe it or not I was in Hawaii way the heck back in 1964 and part of 1965.
A military fellow back then.
See if you recognize this place near Schofield Barracks Hawaii.
I was a 19 year old fellow then.

Trade in price is not an issue with me because I usually keep my cars. I think tuner cars are for the person who wants something really unique and very powerful. That person most likely has no intention on selling the vehicle soon and would most likely keep the tuner car for years. The owner of a tuner car who wants to sell his tuner car would most likely be better off selling the car to a private party than to a dealer.
