If you haven't been able to close the hood at all and it's still stuck open, is there and chance the latch snapped back shut? If so, pull the hood release again and then try to shut it.

Took delivery on my Ecoboost last week and it has the hood problem. Mine is out of alignment on the sides and is much lower in the middle, at the nose piece. Dealer sent me to a body shop, and bottom line, it's not a quick fix. Surprised/disappointed Ford let these through inspection, particularly after nearly a full build-year.
When someone has the "fix," share time it took and details.

Remove the plastic trim piece above the grill by popping out the 8-10 plastic rivets. This is the piece that the hood latch sticks through. From there, you will see 2 little red alignment marks that they made for lining up the hood latch on either side of the latch above the 2 bolts. I just loosened up the bolts and slid the latch up about 1/8" and re-tightened the latch.
Hood closes on its own when dropping it from about 10". and now it lines up better in the middle.
Took about 10 minutes total.

should you have to drop your hood from ten inches up to get it to close properly?
i would think that's a lot of unnecessary wear and tear on the hood and the latches
