Stupid Dealer Sticker
Stupid Dealer Sticker
Picked up my DIB 15 GT Premium on Saturday and, even though I told them I didn't want it, the dealer sticker is on the rear deck lid lip. It looks horrible. Anyone know how to get it off without damaging the paint? Thanks.
It it's just the little sticker like in the picture, use your fingernails to catch the edges and pull it off piece by piece, followed by some wax. That is the first thing I do with any new car. If they gave me an extra $5K off, I would have left it on but they are not paying me to advertise.
These dealer tags can be really, and I mean really stubborn. Don't be alarmed if when they're pulled off that you're going to see an outline or even excess material left over. For this you're going to want to get either some 3M Adhesive Remover (Aerosol can) or Goo-Gone/Goof Off. When you're removing it I would highly suggest using a micro-fiber towel because if you attack it with terry cloth there's a chance it could scratch! Hope this helps!

If you do take it back to the dealer be sure to remind them that you asked that they NOT put a sticker on and when they have removed it the car BETTER look like the sticker was never there.

Thanks everyone. I peeled it off and sure enough there was plenty of glue residue and the sticker "shadow" on the rear lid lip. I used Goo Gone and it seemed to work after about 5 applications. I was afraid it would hurt the paint, but so far so good. (I used the microfiber towel - thanks).
I cant stand that myself.
Spend all that money just for the dealer to think its OK for you do drive around for the next ten years with their name pasted to your rear for free.
This car I bought basically off the truck before they had time to detail it and I specifically told them to not put stickers on the car.
Its better than it used to be. I remember when I was younger cars had those huge plastic/chrome delaer tags stamped thru the sheet metal.

I added the GT500 lower rear diffuser. When you remove the bumper on a 2013-14, it is already marked on the back side by Ford where you need to cut to install the diffuser. After that, the GT500 axle backs are a direct bolt on.

Yet on an original vintage muscle car, the dealer emblem would add value, especially if it said Tasca Ford, Yenko Chevrolet, Royal Pontiac and others.

Exactly the same here! Ordered the car and was specific. Told them several times "No Dealer Stickers" on the car. Came in to pickup and found a sticker slapped in the black taillight area. I was worried about scratches in that high gloss area. Made the remove it to satisfaction before signing.
When I bought my 2012 GT I told them to remove the sticker/badges of the dealer name and they did, no problem. The dealer should have honored ur request and I would not have left or signed without it being done. Then when I got my 14 GT the dealership I bought from actually didn't but any stickers on their mustangs, just the license plate surround. I thought that was pretty cool.

Do this.
