Oil Filter can be a real pain!
Does anyone else here think that the oil filter on the GT's is a pain in the *** to get in and out? I know they have the little flap that you lower, but if your doing the oil change on the ground, it's just an akward spot! I also had the problem the first time that I changed the fliter, that the oil leaked from it. I snugged it down petty tight my hand, but that was not enough. I had to go back about 2 weeks later when I noticed oil on the garage floor after I backed the car out. I really had to snug it down with a strap wrench. When I changed it yesterday , I also made sure to sung it down tightly again. The first fliter was a K&N oil filter. Maybe that was the problem. Anyone elso had theirs leak?
It is a pain. I take a piece of cardboard and make a ramp out it covering everything half way around the oil filter where it come's intact with the cooler out of the suspension arm. Works like a champ. No leaks I touch the oil filter gasket to the plate then turn it by hand 3/4 or a turn done.

I was able to find an oil filter tool that fits the ford filter perfectly and is turned with a 3/8 ratchet. First I give the oil filter a 1/4 turn to loosen, then with a small punch I put a hole in the bottom of the filter allowing the oil to drain into the catch pan. When the oil stops draining you can remove the filter with out getting oil on yourself and everything else.
