I have a 2016 performance package without the premium package, which means it has the small screen, i was considering buying the premium screen and trim bezel from a crashed Gt and getting It installed. Is that something that can be done? If so has anyone on this forum done It before?

 

I can tell you from my days with my 2013 and 2015 Explorer, you could not do anything with the infotainment center when upgrading to an existing OEM Ford system. If your car did not have Nav and you wanted to simply install just the Nav system, it was impossible from a legal standpoint because licensed software was assigned to that VIN at manufacture, and could not be changed or transferred. That was with the original SYNC system by Microsoft. I do not know if it is the same on SYNC 3 systems as it is licensed by RIM (Blackberry). I have a friend who wanted to do what you want to do in his Ford Edge and the parts alone were well into the thousands of dollars because he would have had to have a need a whole new wiring harness installed in his dash along with the whole new center stack. That being said. There are aftermarket systems that you can install to keep form going thru the OEM headache.

 

I 'think' that I have seen that done on a few of the cars... I think that there is a video out on YouTube on that.

 

Everything is integrated.

With the 2010 - 2014 cars it is done, but the dash harness had to be changed along with the console trim and evaporator box and amplifier.

I imagine you could, but if you are not the type to want to rip apart your dash and do repinning and rewiring, then this is not for you.
