Exhaust

I have the magnaflow competition and I love the deep sound and deep stays loud as you go thru gears. Other exhaust sound so canny. I laughed at a guy who pulled along in his 2015 GT and reved. up like he was so hot stuff, but if you like canny loud exhaust then that's ok. But to me magnaflow at catbacks are the best. I've heard borla and MBRP and flowmaster and to me none gives the deep sound. if you like loud annoying then those exhaust are for you.

The Borla S-Type with an H-pipe gives a pretty good, deep sound. The one I'm considering right now is getting the MRT H pipe and a Steeda axle back. Like this video

I just installed the Ford Racing x-pipe this weekend. In a word: disappointed. It's hardly an improvement over stock.
I'm very conservative when it comes to exhaust sound. I want to it to growl nicely when punched, and burble when compression braking down from mid-range revs. This does neither, it's merely a touch louder.
What I found was perfect on my '13 was the GT-500 Axle-Backs . . . the X-pipe replacement in my '16 now does not compare. Now I'm kinda bummed that if I want more and replace the mufflers it might be too loud. I'm thinking I should have done the Rousch axle-backs instead.

To me the magnaflow competition gives the deep old time exhaust sounds. So far the other exhaust give the rurrr rurrr canny sound. To some younger generation who are not familiar with old timey sounds then canny sounds or rattle sounds may sound good to them. But on my 1970 Mach1 mustang with headers was a great muscle sound. Plus the clincher for me is the magnaflow comp. for the money deliver a better sound than some of the 1100 and up pricy exhaust. just my opinion. I started it up at my grocery store and a guy came up ad said "I am a chevy man 100% but that car is the best looking and sounding mustang I have ever seen". I have had at least 40 to 50 folks that have complimented my car looks and sounds. I was at a pizza place and parked near the door and when I walked out to start my car and move it to another parking place a couple came out and said man your car rattled the windows slightly with deep rumble and said "man that car sounds good". I loved my Mach1 , it was my dream car but as hard as it is for me to admit, this 2015 GT prem. is the very best I have ever owned of 4 to 5 mustangs... 2 of them were a 65 and 66 mustang with 289 engines, they don't count, wish I had them back too !

The magnaflow comp system sounds great but drones big time. If you don't mind the drone then it's great.
I have the Corsa sport cat back with double X pipe and I love it. Loud when you want it quiet when you don't, deep with no drone.

Well I discovered something that surprises me a little. I boasted about the magnaflow competition exhaust and how deep they sounded and throaty. Well I let my grandson who is going in the marines dec.1st. have my car 2015 mustang GT premium to use for a day to take his girlfriend out when he came to Indiana to visit his dad for the last time until he goes back home to calif. then on into the marines. While he was driving up the 2 lane hwy , I was next to him in my other car and we had our windows down and had just taken off from a red light. We managed to stay side by side and I for once heard the exhaust from outside the car. OK, OK... I discovered the exhaust sound deep and throaty like the 1970 mach1 I had with hooker headers but found out they sound that way in the car. Outside they had a similar canny sound like the rest of other exhaust. They sounded good on low speed take off but if you revv'd up while taking off they had the canny sound. I still like them but wish they sounded deep as they sound in the car. None the less, still happy. Some other exhaust like MBRP, Flowmaster, and borla. all have LOUD but deep canny sounds. I guess with new multiple valve engines and totally different designs they will never soundlike the old cars. SAD!

I just ordered the Corsa touring axel back. Didn't want anything to loud right now. Later if I want, I can add their x-pipe for more sound. Pretty excited to get this thing on. I've had Corsa on other vehicles and have never been disappointed.

I went the less expensive route with a MBRP street cat-back exhaust (black). I have it in my garage - just waiting on my GT to get here now (ETA 1/7/16). Plus, MBRP has/had a $75 rebate going on. Corsa would be have been nice but hard to justify double the cost of the MBRP - when I think MBRP will do the trick. Plus, the nice thing about any cat-back setup is you don't have to cut anything - if you wanted to change it to something else later on or go back to stock.
