Check engine and obd2

Okay so I have a 2016 mustang gt with a roush phase 1 supercharger, 42k miles. It has long tube headers, no cats and no mufflers. It’s dyno tuned on 91. Was driving it and the check engine light came on went to read it but the obd2 port won’t communicate with my scanners. Also when I hit the gas pretty good the check engine light will blink for 1 minute then stop and stay lighting up. Now back to the ob2 I checked all the fuses all are good, checked the plug and the pins and all is good so I’m at a lost. Thanks.

Might Try to Start the Hunt By Disconnecting Battery for 20 Minutes and Let Everything Reset.

If resetting doesn't do the trick? It would then appear it is tuning related, if it is? You would then need to contact your tuning specialist

That’s what I’m starting to think it is I think it needs to get retuned

hmmmm ... if OBD2 port is not working, then I'm pretty sure that no tuner will be able to communicate with the computer to do anything ... definitely gotta get that thing working again somehow, but I don't know how

Check Engine light is most likely due to the missing rear O2 sensors due to the cat delete; they must have fooled the system somehow on that, usually by turning off the rear O2's in the tune ... but I don't know why they would come back on, if they had been turned off

giving the whole system a good reboot (by disconnecting the battery) might cure it, just like a Windows 95 computer, LOL

If your referring to the initial post regarding the possibility of tuning related? I clearly stated the OP would need to contact his tuning specialist... Nothing was mentioned in the post submission regarding tuning devices... In other words, if the tuning file the OP uploaded into his ECM via OBDII port somehow becomes corrupted? That can cause a communication failure between the hand-held tuning device and the vehicle's ECM... Also, if the tuning file the OP uploaded into his tuning device is corrupted? This can also result in a communication failure causing the tuning device to lock up.. If this turns out as the cause for the communication failure? Then the OP will more than likely require shipping his device to SCT to be unlocked... If the tuning device is not locked up? Then the OP will require having a Ford certified technician run a complete diagnostic test of the vehicle's ECM... Hopefully it can be unlocked by the technician, if there is no significant damage...

Also, just to clarify... When running a cat delete setup, the rear 02 sensors are still physically connected onto the cat delete pipes located above the mid-pipe section... it's usually just the rear 02 sensors that are turned off in the tune which disables them... Once they are turned off in the tune, they cannot automatically turn themselves back on... On the other hand, if the rear 02 sensors aren't able to be turned off in the tune, then the only other way to fool the catalyst system is by installing a pair of 02 spark plug/anti-foulers which extends the distance between the rear 02 sensors and exhaust manifolds... They are known to be effective when fooling the OEM catalyst system, but are not considered as a guarantee to always work... Anyhow, just saying...

ended up getting the obd2 to work but the only thing I found was a miss fire code stored for cylinder 8 but it doesn’t drive like it, drove around and couldn’t get an active code so I’m not to sure what’s going on.

Try replacing the engine coil and spark plug for cylinder 8.

So which steps did you take to get the OBDII port to work again?
