2016 Mustang are rolling down the assembly line
Well I called Ford VOPC today and the agent said that there is a hold on my car. The status on my car has not been updated since 10/4. It says that it's:
"In Transit. Received - (Voith Industrial Services Inc.) Ramp 4G, Mi Assebly Plnt, MI. ETA 10/10-10/14."
So I highly doubt it's going to get here in 2 days if it's still at the plant.
Anyone heard from Deysha? I sent her a message last week and still haven't heard from her.

If you just call the VOPC and say your the dealer they can get you the same information that the dealer can get you. I was hoping that Deysha could shed some light on why my car is in a holding pattern. If all had gone well, it would be here now. Now I don't even have an ETA because the Ford Tracking system is useless. (Even the dealer said it's useless). He told me that he has had cars show up at his door that according to tracking are still at the factory.
Deysha PM'd me yesterday with great news! My GT arrived in Benicia, CA, on Sunday and is now waiting to be trucked back over the Sierra Mountains to my dealer here in Carson City. ETA somewhere around 10/20.

Well, it's been almost three months since I ordered and as far as I know, it's still sitting somewhere on a rail car in the Bay Area. I've been keeping an eye on dealer inventories within a 200 mile radius and found a new Race Red with performance package at a dealership in the San Francisco area. The interesting news on that one is that it's discounted at over $2,000 less than what I committed to pay for the one I ordered. That poses the question as to whether I'm bound by that price or can I renegotiate when and if it ever shows up?

Another ETA has come and gone on my car. No one knows where it is!! The tracking that Deysha and Dealer have been giving me was (According to my dealer) the tracking of the railcar.... not the tracking of the car.
Well, I found my car! it is still at the railyard with another HOLD on it from Ford. It has been sitting there for 5 days 10 miles from my house and dealer.

I wish Ford would release it!!! It looks even better than I imagined.

WOW, oneeyedgiant!! Unbelievable! Is there no way you can get Ford to work with your dealer and do the paperwork to release it? I mean, you could do a "test drive" to the dealership.
Similar situation here! My salesman just called me one hour ago and said that for some unknown reason, my GT and another Mustang scheduled for delivery (yesterday) are still in the rail yard in Benicia, CA, approximately 180 miles from me here in Carson City. Just think, it's been sitting down there since Oct 11, soaking up all that good 'ol foggy salt air and other pollutants, great for paint jobs! Anyway, he said he'd research the problem and get back to me. Well, I can see the writing on the wall, I'll get a call to be told it'll be a couple more weeks. So.............I have to make a decision really fast here, in that I can drive to San Francisco and pick up a same package Race Red GT for less money. There is a bit more paperwork involved when you buy out of state, but hey, I'm at that point right about now. I did leave a $1,000 deposit at my dealership way back in July and I'll fight tooth and nail to get that back, if they try to give me any grief! I can feel your pain guys, but I am glad you're here. Misery likes company, as they say, eh?
GOOD LUCK!!
Jim
EDIT: Beautiful car BTW!!

Update on my 3 month old order status. Deysha continues to be a sweetheart with keeping me informed and up to date.
Yikes, my GT was supposed to have been delivered 3 days ago and when it didn't show and when I couldn't get any info from my dealer, I PM'd Deysha.
Her response:
"It is under a brief hold at the rail yard, Jim. I have no details on it, but it should be released in a couple of weeks. Check back next week. Have a nice weekend!
Deysha"
You guys know what that means, two weeks could and more than likely turn into a month. That would mean four or more months from order to delivery.
Well, with snow likely by that time in this area, I told my dealership if Capital Ford can't arrange to get it delivered here by Saturday, I'm out.
I really do hope that you guys soon will be enjoying your new toys, for me it just wasn't in the cards. Oh well, Murphy's Law, eh?

Man, cczx14r. That sucks. I'm losing patience too. The only reason I haven't thrown in the town is because my dealer graciously gave me a loaner car to use until my Mustang gets there. Let us know if you hear anything else!
Oh me oh my, what a bunch of scammers, liers and cheats these dealers/salesman are! I feel your pain my good friends! If there had been a GT with performance package anywhere near my dealership, I'd of jumped on it way back in July when I had no alternative and was forced to order. Two weeks ago or less I thought I had a Race Red GT on the horizon down in the Bay Area, but it proved out to have had over 50 miles on it. You know what that tells you, many thrill seeking test rides at full throttle and high RPMs, ain't gonna find a spot for it in my garage!
OK, now for an update on my original order. Someone called the other day from my dealership and told the wife that it was on a "ramp" and maybe would be delivered in a week or two.
Let me ask you guys a question. As each day passes in this fiasco, my enthusiasm for this Mustang becomes less and less. I'm worn out with all the BS! I'm ready to throw in the towel and move on. How do you guys feel about what's happening to you? I mean, you can't believe one single word coming out of the dealership's mouth, it's all a ploy to keep you on the hook!

I'm kind of indifferent now. If I didn't have a box full of Roush parts sitting in my garage I might have thrown in the towel.
The RAMP your wife was talking about is more than likely the parking lot at the rail yard. Mine has been on the ramp for 2 weeks according to the tracking.... it isn't moving anytime soon.

What's really sitting on me is by time I get this car, the Pirelli cannot be driven on since temps here will be around or below 45. If the dealer tossed in a set of comparable all seasons and let me at least keep the pirellis for track time in the summer I would wait. Right now I'm starting to lose a bit of steam. Especially knowing I'll have to drop 1300 for a set of all season tires, after I get the stang. Three changed dates so far and until now I've been pretty good. Now I'm starting to question.

Most all of us that order our Mustangs instead of buying off the lot went through at least some of what you are going through. But here is what I learned from my experience ordering.
1. The dealer is updating you with the information they have available in the report Ford provides them. I was constantly getting different information from Deysha and the dealer. My salesperson showed me the report she gets from Ford with the information on the order status of all of the dealers cars.
2. Believe what Deysha says over the dealer. It became clear that Deysha has sources for information the dealer does not have. But she does not have access to all information. So cut her a break if there is a hold on your Mustang and she cannot tell you why.
3. The wait will be well worth it.
