They can do what they want. All I want is a coyote under the hood and RWD and I'm happy.

I hear you. Im all for turbo engines if they truly deliver better performance with economy to boot and I think the jury is still out on that one. Finally, Could Ford have chosen a gayer name than Eco anything for a series of engines.

It's an appeal factor. everyone is on the eco fad so Ford throws that name out there and captures the people that are looking for the "green" factor. then they are clearly appealing to us gearheads with the possibility of dropping it in a mustang. along with the new Taurus being quite awesome.

I don't think that anyone is saying ecoboost is a dog. I'm saying a 4-cyl in a Mustang is just wrong, and I don't care what power adder it's got bolted to it, or how much power it makes as a result. It just ain't right. And imagine if that motor was in a current Mustang...

It depends on your background. I was always much more interested in racing engines than street engines. The most powerful F1 engines were 1.5 Litre turbo 4 cylinders pumping out 1,300 HP and that was in the mid '80s. They would probably be pushing 2,000 HP with today's technology. So for me turbo 4s would be my first preference for any given performance level. But nothing wrong with V8s for those who bonded with that concept. It's all good.
