wheel balance question

I just bought a new set of Pirelli P Zero Nero tires for my car at Discount Tire. I noticed when I got it home that only two of the wheels have weights on them for balancing. I don't feel any real vibration. Is it possible that these two wheels do not need any weights to be in balance? Thanks, Don.

Just for everyone's information, I took it back to Discount and they rebalanced all the wheels. Now they all have weights on them and the ride seems to be smoother. Just thought I'd mention that.

I've always had good service from Discount Tire.

same here I really won't go anywhere else. Check around, get your best price, then go to discount and have them match it or beat it.

To answer the OP, it is possible to not need weights on them to have them balanced, its just very unlikely. Some of the higher end and expensive wheels need very little or sometimes no weights to make them balanced.

Well Discount did right by me. Even though they did not balance them properly at first, they took care of it quickly and properly when I went back. I've bought a number of sets of tires for different vehicles at Discount and they always did a good job. Plus when I bought these tires I got a $60 rebate from Pirelli.

Yes agreed! There is a mark/circle that is supposed to go opposite the valve stem to start with. I have found many tire installers don't know this.
