Which tires are for me?
Which tires are for me?
I drive a 2007 Mustang GT and the other night I hit a curb which punctured my front right tire. I intend on replacing all four tires because my rear ones are getting pretty bald and the two fronts for balancing purposes.
My tire sizes are:
Front - 245/45 ZR18
Rear - 285/40 ZR18
I currently have on continental extreme contact tires. I use this car as my daily driver but in the winter I store the car away. I was wondering if I could get some input on which tires people recommend. I am in college and would prefer not to buy top tier tires but at the same time not buy low quality.

How wide are the wheels on your car? If they're bigger than 8.5" I would go 255/45/18 in front and 285/40/18 in the rear. If not, I'd go with the 255's all around. There are plenty of great tires out there. Just check Tirerack and pick the one you like the best.
I am not sure what width my rims are, I will have to take the wheel off and check the back of the spokes to see if it is printed on there later today. Why would I go with 255's all around when I could just replace the current sizes that I have on?
