I pulled mine out of the garage today to clean and seal them. Who knows how many warm days we have left. Doesn't help that I was lazy and didn't have the ability to wash them when I took them off the car in the spring.

I bought a set of take off OEM 17" wheels with AS tires to use for the winter from Roush and now I'm thinking they may not fit. I have the 2013 V6 auto with the performance package with factory 19" wheels. So can anyone confirm that these will fit on my car? Any help would be great.

Why are you thinking that?

3 reasons, when I searched at tire rack the smallest size they sell for 2013 PP mustang is 18", the GTs only come with 18" or larger wheels and when I measured the front breaks today and there is only about an inch of clearence on the 19 wheels from the top pf the caliper to the inside of the wheel.

winter tires question

I have a 2012 GT with 19 inch rims. I am needing to get winter tires and thought it would be cheaper to buy 16 inch rims and put on the appropriate size tires for those.

Should that be a problem? Just want to know before I go out and buy these.

Why do you think its cheaper? Its easier since you can change rims with tires at home but I would hate to have a bad look on my mustang during the winter for only having a different tire setup,my 2cents

Rule of thumb is to go 2" lower then stock size. I say go 17" and all will be GREAT!

Winter tires for me for 19 inch rims are $300 per tire plus putting them on in winter and taking them off. That is alot. I can get 16 inch rims and tires for half that.

For winter, it is better to have more sidewall anyways, so a smaller rim will provide that.

As for looks, safety is more important to me.

Use the search function and check out this thread especially: https://themustangsource.com/f726/wi...ussion-488595/

16" will not clear the brakes and I can't remember if 17" will or not, but it's close. And the answer is in that thread.

I just replaced my A/S wheels and tires with my winter tires and wheels this morning. I have the 19" wheels, and went to 18" Blizzaks with the SVT wheels. The package came from Tire Rack. This will be the third season, and the tires are showing hardly any wear. I also went from 245 to 235, for a little better snow traction. You most likely have similar winters to mine, and I can tell you the Blizzaks make this a very driveable car in the winter months.

Thanks for that. Just found out that the 16 inch V6 Mustang rims I was going to use won't fit over the front brakes. Smallest I can go is 18 inches. I will have to get the simple steel rims and go withteh tire size you recommended, I think.

I think that you are right and our winters are similar. On the prairies, they long and cold ...

For the benefit of anyone planning to order a set of TPMS sensors with programmer from Tousley Ford, be advised that the price has been increased somewhat from $120 for the outfit to $193.60! That's about a 50% hike by my math... and just about the way my luck tends to run-- a day late and a dollar short. I wonder if they will blame Hurricane Sandy for the price bump?
Anyway, I ordered a set from Yates Performance for $154.95 while they last; future orders will be at the existing rate... word to the wise.

Just went for the 18/235/50 steel rim with toyo snows gsi5 tire.

I looked at a 17 aluminum rim, but it looked god awful ....I thought for $170 extra the 18 steel looks better.

Anyone else running the toyo snow tire ? How is it in the snow and ice ?
