Strut /spring replacement -torque values

Hello folks,

Do I have to use specific torque values while replacing the the front spring/strut and rear shocks? Or can I just tighten them down?

I am pretty sure the strut nut is 24 ft/lbs which isn't much past tight. This will have the torque specs though http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=711
