Steeda Sport vs FRPP P-springs recommendations
Steeda Sport vs FRPP P-springs recommendations
I'm planning on doing a whole suspension work, already know what parts to go with, the only problem I'm having is that I can't decide on the **** springs!
The goal is to drop an inch and still have the best ride quality vs performance.
Parts will be : steeda HD mounts, Koni 2011+ STR.T shocks,
BMR panhard
I know the specs of the steeda sport springs, but can't find a **** thing about the p springs, only words of some owners stating if they like them or not, this info is not very helpful.
I need some solid information stating what springs will give me the best ride quality, would the fact that p springs are progressive be enough to make them ride better then the linear steeda sport springs, even tho the sports get a high praise for comfort?

I am very impressed with these springs. The drop is perfect in allowing the car to look more aggressive without looking ghetto. What I am most impressed with is the marriage of improved performance w/o extreme loss in ride quality. The lowering springs I put in my 2005 (not these) really gave me a rough ride ... a total pain for a daily driver. These really impress me. I am able to take a fast turn and the back end stays planted, but, I am also comfortable on the straightaways. Nice job.
LIVING CLOSE TO THE STEEDA OFFICES I WENT DOWN AND SPOKE WITH DON. HE SUGGESTED I GO WITH THE SPORT SPRINGS AFTRR WE SPOKE FOR AWHILE AND I'M GLAD I DID. THE CAR LOOKS GREAT AND THE RIDE IS SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER THAN STOCK AND MUCH MORE OF WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR IN REGARDS TO HAVING A FUN CAR TO DRIVE IN EVERYDAY DRIVING CONDITIONS. NICE ADDITION AND RECOMEND.
Ordered the Sport springs as I didn't want to drop the car too far and run in to issues with ride quality. Installed them today and went on a roadtrip on some curvy streets nearby. Ride over bumps and uneven lanes was almost exactly like stock! This was a huge plus for me as I daily drive mine. The stance was dropped and appropriately and the springs definitely helped with the launch and nose dive under breaking as well as helped keep the car flat during cornering. Couldn't be happier!!!
Best Regards,
TJ
On my 2010 GT I had the FRPP springs with Koni - SRT struts and shocks. The ride was horrible but it handled great.. I switched to the Steeda Sports and it was a much better ride and handled great!

I'm studying the same choices along with Eibach ProKits. From what I've seen with the P's you're better off stepping up to an adjustable Koni Sport to really find the sweet spot as far as ride quality is concerned. With Steeda (as well as Eibach) they make dampers specifically tuned to their springs, so hitting up TJ might make some good sense for you.
FRPP also offers their own dampers (rebranded tokico's in both fixed and adjustable versions), but to me they seem a big overpriced, though you can save some money as they're the 05-09 style so you can use the tried and true GT500 mounts. But Steeda is probably your best bet if you're set on the HD mounts and are leaning towards the springs.
I can't speak to ride quality and handling, don't even have my car yet, but I have been doing a fair bit of reading on this exact topic.

I have P's, 2011+ STR.T's and new OEM mounts.
Rides fine. Same as stock really, just stiffer. The car does the same thing over bumps as it did stock, which is nice.
I've done many spring/strut combos on many cars in the past, this is by far the best setup as far as ride/handling balance.

False.
The ride characteristics are exactly the same as stock, just more controlled and yes, stiffer, but nothing near uncomfortable or obnoxious. "Same as stock" is a very relative term, nothing will be the same as stock, because, IMO, it's horrible. To me, the Orange/P combo rides better than stock Brembo stuff, but I'm not the normal Mustang owner.
If you want to feel horrible ride quality, try 1000lb front spring in a Miata.
If you want stock ride quality, use stock suspension.

Steeda is my vote. The sports are a good match for the SR.T and are a perfect solution for a street car. You will be amazed with your cars transformation as the stock setup is poorly damped for sure.
Don't think the adjustable PHB will be needed so save your money until you have a chance to check the axle center after you change the springs. If it is close leave it. Heck my brand new GT track pack was off center from the factory by almost a half inch.
Good move upgrading the strut mounts at the same time as the stock mounts are very poor. Even though I had plenty of warning about loose mount bearings one of the two spilled bearing all over the floor. Crap.
My setup below is way more extreme than what you are planning and I find my setup to be similar to my Brothers 2013 BMW M6. Firm but supple. Perfect for me.

I'd just like to reiterate that also the STR.T's are amazingly cheap right now, the Steeda's are very reasonably priced, and will be better matched to the Steeda springs if those are the springs you choose, that alone will improve ride quality. I'd take a good hard look an an all-Steeda setup.
+1 for the Steeda Sports. I have the Koni orange SR.T, steeda sports, and GT500 strut mounts, and I like the set up. The ride is more firm than stock, but it doesnt knock your fillings out, and the handling is much improved.
I have the Ford Racing FR3A Adjustable kit. It has the P springs and the GT500 mounts. The kit also includes stiffer swaybars and an adjustable PHB. I've added the relocation brackets and LCA's.
The P springs drop the car, IMO, to a perfect point. It just clears the turn up into my driveway. I can't go any lower lol.
I wanted this setup to carve corners, and it does that unbelievably well. Its so good that now every weekend I have a chance it goes to the Dragon. (If I could live near Deals Gap I would).
My adjustables are set to 3 turns. Thats mid way, 6 turns total.
I can't find a single reason why this setup gets such a bad rap. This car is unreal with the FR3A package on it. It corners on rails, its grips good. Its stable. Its a freckin blast to drive hard.
Idk, maybe the guys with the FR3A package aren't on the forums, they must be out driving and enjoying their cars.
They drive perfect.
I just got back from the Dragon again today, I'm still pretty stoked about how the car drives lol.

I am going with the Steeda ultra-lite springs just because I wanted a little more drop. I bought their struts/shocks/adjustable sway bar kit, adj pan hard bar, UCA & LCA with brackets. Starting the install this week.
Great quality, can't wait to drive it afterwards. Don't think you would go wrong going with Steeda.

So glad to hear from Steeda on here. I am also going to be lowering my car and there are so many options out there I was really confused. This is my first sport car so using mods is not something I am used to. I think I will also be contacting TJ so I can find a complete setup, shocks, struts, springs, panhard bar and lower control arms.

Oh, one more thing: Pics when done please.
I have the Steeda Sports and Koni Oranges with GT500 strut mounts.
In my opinion, they drop the car to the perfect height. The car also feels planted to the ground.
My ride height lowered about 1.25" in the front and 1.50" in the rear.
