Try checking the sway bar against the axle back pipes! Happened to me on my wife's car! It was hitting ever so slightly but would make a large thump sound like something was loose. It's fixed now though!

Me and my buddy was looking all round so we took everything apart and the top of the spring.. The paint is wore out like it has been rubbing hard.. So I parked upward on a hill and look likes the stops and they where bottomed out so I think I am going to cut them and see if that's the problem

Okay so I cut my bumper stops and that wasn't the problem.. Going to lift it again tomorrow and see if my exhaust is hitting my axle or see if my Panhard bar is tighten good

The sway bar wasn't the problems i think... I took out the frame bar right above the Panhard bar and I don't hear no clanking but I dont know how safe it is without it in since it was connected to the frame

You need that support brace in your car. It helps support the panhard bar's mounting location.

I would check your exhaust clearance, it sounds like that might be hitting the support brace.

It's hitting that support brace.. When it was in there was a gap of about 1/4 between the brace and the exhaust.. Other than removing the brace I don't see a option on fixing it.. And other options would help me out?

I dont think a lot of guys are experiencing this issue. The should install with everything else remaining in place.

I know, I called Steeda and they told me it could be the bumper stop so I trimmed them, told me the axle can be hitting the exhaust so I looked and that brace was 1/4 away from frame so I took it off and I don't hear the clanking noise anymore so that has to be the issue but I think it has to be there but can't figure out what else to do without it rubbing on the frame everytime I hit a bump lol

Hello Zack ,

Here is what Gus thinks:

Springs don't make noise unless they were installed without the spring isolators which gives you metal to metal contact, then it would be a creak, not a clunk.

A clunk means something is hitting, his exhaust is a good culprit. The axle could be hitting one of the tailpipes through suspension travel. If he took out the panhard bar brace like he describes and the sound went away, exhaust routes right by the panhard bar brace. Sounds like the clunk might have been his exhaust hitting the brace.
You have to understand it is hard for us to diagnose something like this due to what your describing, unless we were looking right at we could make a definate diagnosis, but based on what you are saying this is our best observation.

Let us know if this could be the issue.

Best Regards,

TJ
