Lowering Without Adj. Panhard Bar Temporarily?

My plan is to install 1.5" BMR lowering springs, relocation brackets, control arms, etc. myself and then drive the car to a shop to have a Whiteline Watts Link installed.

Would it be ok to drive the car with the stock panhard bar temporarily in order to get to the shop?

I realize the axle will be shifted towards the driver's side so I am wondering if this is do-able without damaging anything?

Thanks!

There should not be any problem at all. It's unlikely you'll see more that 3/16" or maybe a 1/4" shift. As long as a tire doesn't rub anywhere a little driving won't be an issue.

When I lowered my '06 the shift was 3/16". I was so tuckered out after doing springs and dampers that I couldn't face installing the adj. BMR Panhard bar for a couple of days before visiting the alignment shop. No ill effects in about 30 miles of driving.

Just check clearance between rims/tires and all components, and you should be all good. Enjoy the new ride, I think you'll love it!

Mine is 1/8 to far to the left right now and I took it for 160 mile ride through the mountains, no problem.
Probably should go put the Steeda Adjustable on today since it is sitting next to the car.

Just out of curiosity, why do all that work yourself then pay someone else to install the watts link. I know it's slightly different but I installed the Steeda watts link myself and it was a piece of cake. If you can install springs, arms, brackets etc yourself, the watts link should be easy.

I figured with my luck I would get everything installed and set and then end up with a stupid leak at the diff. Never popped a diff cover or sealed one back up before. I have the tools etc. but the know how and experience is a different story lol.

The OP should go with the Steeda unit!
