Post Do i need rubber isolator to install camber plate ?

Hi,

On my 2011 GT i have a Koni sport yellow dampers kit (2005-2009 model) with Ford racing -1.5" springs (2005-2009 model) and GT500 strut mount.
The measured camber values are :
Left : -1.19°
Right : -1.48°

For road use, i think these values are a too high.

I would like to install the Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plate (MM5CC-1)
Reading this pdf http://www.cjponyparts.com/images/art/install_CCP42.pdf , it seems i will need a set of rubber isolators (2005-2009 model).

Am i right ?

Unfortunatly, you have to butcher a perfectly good set of 2005-10 strut mounts. I bought mine used, so I dont know the part #.

Check the Ground Control Brand, it looks like they include all necessary parts, which in theory makes them cheaper than the MAX Motorsports offering

If the rubber isolator can be removed from 2005-2010 standard strut mount, is it not the same with GT500 2010 strut mount i actually use ?

The Ground control CC plates are awesome, we have them on our 13 Boss. They offer a wide range of adjustability at +-3 degrees and you won't have to take apart your existing stock strut mount in order to use the spring isolator. Torque specs are etched in the plate.

You're right. It can be a better solution because i could sell my pair of GT500 strut mount.

Or you could just use Camber bolts.. way cheaper than CC plates.

You are probably better off with the camber bolts, from the variance of opinions on camber plates and the lack of detailed info from said manufacturers, I have become totally confused on what camber plates/strut mount plates should be used.
Apparently a camber plate mod is best left to those who are racing or tracking and not for mere minions like me who just want to have a great handling car.
Oh well, on to other mods!
