So I just got Ford k springs koni str.t shocks and struts with gt500 mounts and a bmr panhard bar. When I'm notmoving and I turn the wheel left or right there is a cranking type noise that I can certainly hear. When I'm driving I can't tell if it's making the noise because of the exhaust. Also, when cleaning my tires I noticed some paint is coming off the rear shocks on both sides .is this normal or is something off?

 

For the "cranking" noise, might be your springs are binding when turning the wheels. Sounds like some part is binding up. Got ramps? drive the front end up on em and have someone turn the wheel back and forth. That should help locate the issue. For the rear, might be inside tire edge contacting the shock body...assuming the loss of paint lines up with the edge of tire.

 

I'm getting LCA and relo brackets and a metco UCA and bracket installed soon so ill have the shop take a look. As for the paint coming off I read that some people have the same "issue." Its right where the black cover cap thingie meets the actual rear strut. So thats whats causing the paint to come off, really doesn't bother me just wanted to make sure it wasn't anything serious.
