Converting to Brembo brakes
Converting to Brembo brakes
Looking to convert my 2012 California Special over to the 14" Brembo brakes.
Looking for a complete kit. Who has the kit at the best price?
Thanks, Mike

There are other good brake kits out there too... haven't researched what works best with the Mustangs, but I had Stoptech ST40 kit on my last car and loved it. Ordered my Mustang with the Brembos (part of track package) but if I were to get an aftermarket BBK, would consider some other options as well
With the California Special, you cannot use the CS wheels with the 4-piston 14" Brembo brakes that came on the Brembo or Track Pack cars.
As Danielle pointed out, there is a pretty cheap place to pick up Ford Racing Parts, http://fordpartsdiscountoutlet.com/ford/mustang-parts/, or buy from your favorite dealer that sells the Ford Racing parts.
You have two options now:
$1138 - Ford Racing M-2300-S = 14" discs w/Brembo 4-piston calipers, new pads all around, all new SS Lines, rear disc and caliper re-used. These calipers are the same as the factory with a different finish, but with SS Lines instead of the reinforced rubber lines.
$1818 - Ford Racing M-2300-T = 15" discs w/Brembo 6-piston calipers, 13.8" Rear rotors w/new calipers, new pads all around, new front reinforced hoses, reuse rear hoses. These are the same brakes that come on the 2013 and 2014 GT500.
Both of these brakes kits need wheels that have proper clearance. While the 14" Brembo's will fit behind some 18" wheels, the 15" Brembo's will only fit behind 19" wheels with the proper clearance, which includes the factory Brembo wheels.

For the price I'd rather go with the 15"! I'm looking into this once my first born has settled into the world. I wonder what install will be with the rears being a tad more intrusive?!
I would do it myself, the diff cover and oil is messy, but not difficult if you have any mechanical knowledge.
