Brake rotor/caliper upgrade suggestions

I have the stock brakes on my 2013 mustang GT and was wondering what would be a good upgrade? I know I can always go with the standard brembo upgrade but else is out there that is functional for an occasion drag strip outing and street use. Also of course its got to look good!!

Thanks

The Brembo brake package is probably the best value for enhanced braking performance for mixed-use as you stated.

Keep in mind that if you upgrade to 14" brakes, or even some 13" brakes with 4-piston calipers, you have to be careful on wheel selection to prevent caliper interference issues.

Stick with stock. I autocross on stock pads and they do great. I consistently beat a brembo GT that has the full ford handling package, with my completely stock GT with 285 wide summer tires.

If you were going on a track, you should upgrade. But otherwise save the cash for something else.

That sounds like it's a driver mod rather than anything else.

Baer and wilwood both have solid big brake offerings that wont break the bank. If you don't want to spend a ton of money. Look into a 2-piece rotor replacement and slightly more aggressive pad. Baer Eradispeed rotors w/ Hawk HPS pads for example. Don't forget to upgrade those brake lines and the brake fluid at the same time.

I've autocrossed less than 10 times in my life. The other guy has been doing it for 4 years.

Hard to believe that you can put better times down than a 10 year veteran. Either your a natural or he really sucks. Either way I agree that for simple auto cross on occasion the stock setup is more than enough. Just change pads.

Steel lines at all four corners plus DOT 4 synthetic fluid, with whatever you do.

We really like the goodridge ss lines, use them on our 13 boss. Great fitment and handle the heat as well. We offer the Stoptech ST40 kit with one piece rotor at a great price. A one piece rotor will serve its purpose just fine on track days and sessions around 15-20 minutes.
