Brake pad bed in procedure
Brake pad bed in procedure
I'm installing the Ford Racing Brembo kit on my 2012 California Special tomorrow.
What is the recommended bed in procedure for it?
Thanks, Mike

In the past I worked as an auto tech at a very nice shop servicing mostly Porsche. We were a Repco dealer and the Repco rep told us like this.
Brake pads are like cookie dough when you get them and need to be "baked". His advice. Always start with new or freshly turned discs. Accel to about 40 and brake lightly till almost stopped (don't stop!). Repeat 5 times with progressively harder braking. You should smell brakes by this time and see smoke coming from the wheel wells indicating that they are up to temp and "baking". Let pads cool for 30 minutes then your ready.
Probably did several hundred brake jobs and it never failed to work.
