2010 gt lowering

I am lowering my 2010 Gt with BMR springs and i was told that i need to purchase some 2010 GT500 strut mounts. What the difference between the 2010 Gt mounts and the GT500 mounts?

The gt500 strut mounts are stronger the rubber lasts longer under the greater impact and abuse of a lowered spring.

The GT500 upper strut mounts are not necessary when changing the springs only. Your stock upper strut mounts will work just fine with an aftermarket set of springs.
They ARE necessary when upgrading to a different set of struts on the 11-13 cars though. Usually, when doing different struts, people will use stiffer springs as well. That may be where the confusion comes in.

That is correct.
I just installed the P springs myself about a week ago. Everything worked just fine with the standard upper strut mounts.

I really like them so far. Lowered the car just enough, the ride is slightly stiffer than the Brembo setup. It got rid of the rear end hopping on expansion joints. On/off ramps are a lot more fun. I cannot wait to try them out on track soon.

So i've been done with the suspension but i thought i'd let you all know that my 2010 had the track pack suspension on it. When i took the old springs out, i had the GT500 strut mounts already installed. I still replaced them with the new ones that i purchased because it was recommended by BMR and because the driver side mount split in two and the bearings went everywhere...

The car has the perfect stance for me and rides great but i did add koni str.t's

Just to clarify, this only applies when using 05-10 struts on the 2011+ Mustang (non-GT500).

I don't mean to steal the thread but I have one question I've been wondering for a while. I have an '06 and I've been trying to plan lowering it. As far as I can tell all I need is springs, shocks and struts, camber bolts, and maybe a phb if the axle is shifted. I've only had one person recommend upgrading strut mounts, but I'm not really thinking I need them? Will it help me that much?

Sorry! Really didn't mean to steal the thread

Our heavy-duty upper strut mounts replace the inferior mounts and also allow up to 1 degree of camber adjustment, (pretty much) eliminating the need of camber bolts. I strongly recommend doing our struts mounts and an adjustable panhard bar when upgrading your springs.

They're made in the USA and feature a lifetime warranty too.
