I had bought my 302 decals from SMS, very good quality and I removed the 5.0 badge and put a set of OEM GT badges on there. It did not look right to have the 5.0 below the 302 also just saying not a fan of the mustang decal on the door anyways just my thoughts.

I own a plain Race Red GT with Track Pack. I was kicking around the idea of installing a full over-the-top center 10" rally stripe with bordering 1/2" pinstripes. I'm considering two colors... Yellow or Gold. Both colors on race red seem to be rare, from what I've seen. I'm looking for that uncommon appearance. Black and white stripes are not desired. They're too common. What do you guys think? I need some advice to help me decide.

 

I just added some Saleen / SMS 302 chevrons to mine, and I'm keeping the 5.0 emblems too.

My opinion is that yellow or gold on RR would not be a desirable combination, perhaps the reason it's so rare? Agree with your comments about white or black stripes, although both do go well with the red.
Have you tried this combo on any of the Mustang builder sites?

 

Rare? Yes. I'm known to go beyond the norm and personalize my stuff. I think my color choice would get noticed, like factory white does. But, I'm just wanting it to be different than what everyone else has. Yes, I'm a little strange.

I haven't tried builder sites yet. It's hard to find a narrower single stripe bordered with pin stripes, let alone find the colors, yellow or gold. I'm fairly dead set on a single (pinstriped) old school rally stripe, if I install any at all. I'll look around at different sites and see what I can find. Thanks for you feedback.

 

Just got her finished last week. Gold metallic looks great, IMO. Sure breaks up the solid red nicely...

When you took off the 5.0 badge is there holes behind them?

 

Yes, there's 2 alignment tabs in the factory 5.0 emblems... The aftermarket ones will not have them, so if u ever decide on replacing, make sure u make a template with blue painters tape so u can align correctly

That looks good. Mainly because it's different I guess. I'm always amazed at how particular we can get. Normally I'm not a decal and stripes fan but here I am considering putting a set of stripes on my Red 2012 GT500 that was order Stripe/Delete.

 

Your car is beautiful. The gt500 is one of my dream cars. I'd have to put stripes on it. Have you considered getting them painted on? That would be special.
