Why no grabber blue Boss?
Probably part of the 2013 color pallete.
Rumor is that the 2012 Boss is supposed to be evocative of the '69s while the 2013 Boss will more closely reflect the '70s. Grabber colors weren't introduced until 1970 so we might see a Grabber Blue Boss yet.
Grabber Blue has been a very popular color over the past two years. Ford is in business to make money. That's why they call it a business and not a hobby. While it is entirely possible that they could drop the color along with every other color they now offer and come up with all new colors I seriously doubt they would do that. Doesn't make good business sense which is very important these days. Throw in the second year Boss scenario and it just doesn't add up.

I see very few Grabber Blue mustangs around town. It's not that popular a color(at least here) and I think it looks like crap (sorry if I offend anyone), it looks like a kid's crayon color.
Another Ford blunder probably do to the stylists that brought out the brick-in the-pool remade T-Bird and the horrible color selection on the first Edges. Also, the bean counters love red and white - best selling colors. The main reason I bought my 2010 GT was that it was Grabber Blue. I could not afford the real GB - '70 Mach1 so I got the next best thing. As I remember GB and Competition Orange were the most popular colors for the '70 Boss 302. CO was about the only color I remember seeing the '69 Boss 302 in. Saw couple Mach 1's in white but never a Boss 302. Never saw a black Boss. As for me the 2012 Boss in CO is the only decent color to be offered. This type car is unique and so should the colors be, not the everyday run-of-mill colors like red and white that you can get the Focus or Fusion in. Looks like the engineers got the car right but the stylists and bean counters messed it up.
It should be obvious by now that the colors and stripes they are offering on the 2012 are as close as they can get with the colors they have now to those that were used on the 1969 Boss 302. It's that simple. The only hope anyone could have for something different will be the next model year when they will hopefully offer colors similar to those from the 1970 model year of which Grabber Blue was the third most popular.

Gee, thanks. I never realized Ford was in the business to make money in the 23 years I've worked there. Thanks for the heads up.
The reality is (from someone that actually is familiar with the manufacturing process), the paint system has a finite number of paint colours it is designed for. The number of vats in the paint kitchen, the number of paint lines to the paint booths, the programming, what have you, are limited. The paint system for the Mustang not only does the Mustang but also the Mazda 6 built in the same plant.
So when one colour rotates in, another rotates out. Maybe the performance orange might be the incoming the maybe grabber blue rotating out. Or maybe not, perhaps it will be something else (maybe a Mazda 6 colour). Notwithstanding that, Ford just may choose not to offer it in the Boss, "just because", just like you can't get the California Special in Kona Blue. We'll see in November when they release the order guides for the 2012.

I don't see grabber blue going anywhere. Torch red was a color for how many years like 8. It contrasts well with Kona and any of the grabber colors whether you like them or not do grab you big time in comparison to other colors on the lot. The new race red as well jumps out at you far more than torch red ever did. The reason grabber blue is not in the color scheme is becuase they modeled the Boss after the 69 model and colors.
i concur .. i remember a grabber blue ( i thought 69 boss429 ) being for sale in fayetteville tenn . in 1974 for 2500 bucks .. it had a knock in the motor .. i passed on it .. only now do i know that grabber blue was`nt available in 69 so it must have been a 70 .. perhaps that`s why i passed .. i dont like 70`s that much
Kona Blue and Race Red did not exist in 69 so I don't think they are trying to use 69 colors. A medium metallic blue existing as well a a medium bright red and Calypso Coral. Since the pictures of the 2012 Boss in Race Red appear to be very orangish red I guess it would be close to CC. KB, I don't remember has any dark blue to relate to.
