Btw, +1 to the 302R wheels. I also think some RTR's would look GREAT on the BOSS.
I think the main reason people don't like the LS wheels is the bright red/orange on them. If they were a normal color, I'm sure many people, including myself would like them a lot.

I agree, the LS wheels minus the color are a very nice wheel and look very updated. I would have gone with the RTR wheels as a less expensive option to the 302R wheels for the LS.

For those of you in love with the BBS wheels, FRPP is selling them. I hope you have deeper pockets than I. I love them too but I won't pay for them. I don't own a race car or team to back up that expense.

The regular Boss wheels at least have a small offset in the rear, it's very slight but it's there. I too wish they were more dished in the rear to look more aggressive but I knew Ford would never put something like that out. I don't mind the front as much, I could keep that but dish the rear a little more.

I originally voted to ditch the red on the LS wheels but am starting to like it.

I liked the Fikse wheels that were on the original FR500C - so the BBS version is a no-brainer for me. I don't mind the SVT PP wheels that were used on the Boss prototypes either - just make them gunmetal or hyperblack. And believe it or not, IIRC the Boss302R BBS wheels sold by FRPP cost less than a similar sized BBS "R-series" wheel (18" retail)! Breyton's "B E" lineup of wheels look pretty good too IMO.

I love the magnums, I had them on my 70 Boss 302, I would just like to see this car be a more modern interpretation of the original Boss. Otherwise it's just a cloned retro car. Keeping some of the heritage of the original and bringing in a bit of the modern, I think is the better way to go.

I'm considering the LS wheel for mine....offsets and price are good. I've heard they're not too heavy either.

Wheels look great. You have that baby slammed. I wish the Boss was a little closer to that. How much did you drop it?

That's a photoshop file I've got which I use to see how wheels might look on my car. The drop probably is slightly exaggerated....but not far from reality. I went with Steeda sports from Sam Strano. They settled in at about 1.5 inch drop rear and 1.25 inch front. I could not be happier.....now just need to make my mind up on wheels and tires for this spring.

That drop looks like the Eibach springs which is a lower drop than the Steeda sports that Sam sells. I would not drop my car that much. I was hot for the LS wheels originally but have cooled since they became available. I thought they were going to be light but they are around 29 lbs each. If I replace the stock Boss wheels I want them to be at least 5 lbs lighter per wheel. Here's a PS I did adding the LS wheels to a Boss.

It would be nice if someone could weigh the stock Boss and LS wheels so we know exactly what their weight is.

Are the stock Boss wheels 29lbs also? I am guessing they are, that's what the stock GT500 wheels weigh. If that's the case, I've dropped 52lbs of rotating unsprung weight between my Enkei PF01 wheels and DBA 5000 rotors. I will take that. There's a potential of 25 lbs more rotating sprung weight going to a carbon fiber DS.

Throw on some 23 lb 275/35/18 Hoosier R6 tires and drop another 24 lbs rotating unsprung weight. All in all 100 lbs of rotating mostly unsprung weight and now you're talking.

I am good with the original Boss wheels, funny people mentioned Magnum 500 wheels. I was just thinking how those would look on a new Boss the other day.

The 302S (black LS) wheels will look great on any Boss, I would like to have an extra set but would not change them because I don't like the originals.

There's a guy on SVT who works at Rehagan racing and he guessed the 302S wheels are 29 for the front. He mounted them on his car but did not weigh them before installation. I'll bet the Boss wheels are similar in weight.

Absolutely agree with you! The red painted LS rims are hideous and as the poll shows, many share my sentiments. I would have much preferred a grey, silver or black version. In fact I have ordered 4 replacement black versions of the rim design to swap out as soon as the car arrives. They are just that bad. I will keep the OE rims and tires for track use.

I think the regular Boss rim offering is weak as well. Does nothing for me. The BBS rims are very nice but as pointed out take deep pockets. I like the GT500 rims as well which are close to the black painted LS rims.

All in all, poor OE rim options for our Boss.

TSW nurburgings woudl look great and they clear brembos on an 11Gt in 18" 32mm front and they ontl weight 22 pounds each. i have them on my 10 but sold them recently, i realyl dig the standard black boss wheels. those TSW wheels are sort of like the RTRs and woudl make a really nice set of track wheels.
