You can't drive new Continentals or used ones on the street without risking a ticket - they are not DOT approved. A bit ironic as they are just an R6 without a tiny bit of tread and bit more of an endurance compound ( Hoosier makes them ). The Michelin Super Sports are great, but if you are not really interested in doing track stuff you can get a set of Kumho Ecsta LE Sports for 780 plus shipping , and then a $100 rebate back to you. So if you want a Max Performance street tire for a reasonable price that is a good option also -- call Luke at the Tirerack ( ext. #4362 )

I would say BFG Rivals. As long as your OK with 18s. Hancook Ventus RS3 are darn good as well. I've heard the NT05 are ok.

Basically, I won't street an R comp. it's just not practical, especially on a heavy car.

In a perfect world, I'd ride some Conti/Pirelli slicks to and from the track, but that would be truly absurd.
