44 and cloudy I'm guessing it's twice that where you are

Dropped the car for its first diff fluid change per the supplement. We had a long discussion about whether to put in the friction modifier. Generally you don't need it on a Torsen T2, but at the end of the day it seems Torsen's not taking a position other than "follow what's in your owner's manual". So we decided to have them put it in there.

Heh... TracKey is programmed by the dealer, so it's not part of CAFE and will replace the standard key the 2nd time the car is started by the owner?

After a long stormy night, we're looking at 70s and partly sunny here in Cleveland.

Or does that mean it is a CAFE issue not a CARB issue?
The truth, from the source, straight from a guy that knows - certification for Trackey in CA (maybe other states also, we did not talk about that) could not even be applied for until the first retail units were sold. It is that simple, now knowing how government works we come up with something like mid-July for release. That is what I was told in person and it was not a salesmen at a dealer.

Thanks for the reality check.
Western Pa weather
I picked up the Boss on 3/28/11 with 8 miles on the clock.
Drove home
Weather past 26 days.... RAIN 23 DAYS
Worked the other three.
At this rate I don`t need a BLACK KEY!

P.S. The car is very clean though being that is all I have been able to do. Last week I waxed under carriage while it RAINED all weekend

WHO WILL STOP THE RAIN

So how does a NEW MODEL car get approval? Wouldn't they need to be approved before they could be sold? Obviously. So why couldn't Ford get this approved before cars were available for retail?

Its an after market tune sold by FRPP not Ford. Therefore it must be certified on a production car. It's not the same as getting a production car approved.

I heard from a shop manager at the Ford dealer (he is a real nut for Mustangs) that it should be about couple of months before release. He is talking directly to some of the development folks and they said that the changes are now up to 600+!

The code is to be delievered to the dealer after the entry of all the reguired data to verlify the car. The code is downloaded and ready for a flash. One time only and it disapears after the flash to make sure the tech can not get thier hands on it for any other use. They will not be able to look at it at all, it must be a downloaded program that x-fers from the source to the car's cpu and is encripted/protected at all stages.

I just meet him on Friday and had quite a talk with him about mustangs. His NA 2007 is dyno'ing almost 500 hp and does a 11.2 1/4. He is really on top of things and will be a great resouce for me. This is the same dealership I bought the fr500 cammer crate engine from. He will be getting a 2012 GT500 and setting that up, It will be a fun summer here in AK. Also a friend is trying to obtain a new 2008 Cobra Jet to run this summer.

Now, if I can get that red key to really be the TrackKey!!!!!!!

Looks like it's going to be a loud summer, can't wait to put the rumors to rest.
