Trackey is DEAD ??

Take it for what it is worth!
I just had a Ford dealership salesman tell me his Ford Zoner Manager was told the Track Key is Dead! The US Gov't would not approve it.
I hope this is the BS. We will see.

I reached the conclusion many moons ago sales consultants are not exactly the best informed sources to rely on.

If the Track Key is illegal then why are tuners or FRPP for that matter?

I think Ford would have a big problem with consumers' rights issues. Many people, myself included, bought the car with the expectation of getting the trackey.

i suppose if they really wanted to they could just sell it as "off road only in CA" but emissions compliant everywhere else.

What's the deal with the Track Key? It's not a key to the track...it doesn't track your keys...Maybe they should call it the "Key that unlocks an alternate engine strategy that allows better performance on the race track" Key.

That would make sense

This but there are 13-16 states that follow the same emissions standards. Worse case scenario is the lopey idle is removed.

Interesting, but have to agree with the salesman/zone manager not being the best source. I had a few zone managers that didn't know diddly about half the options or packages on cars.

Well the one red flag I saw concerning track key was that Ford still needed it to pass CAFE standards, that's why it was to be released before mid summer. I guess we'll see what happens in a few months.
