That is so incredibly badass.

 

QFT The cars at Track Attack had the stock restrictor plates and the lopey idle still sounded cool. I can't wait to hear it with less restrictive plates.

 

When I read the dealer pdf I was thinking the same thing about the Miller cars.

 

Is the track key being offered for the 2013 Boss 302 ? I dont recall any mention as to wether or not the 2013 Boss 302 will have the track key.

 

It will be coming out. From what some people on another forum have said, they aren't quite done with the programing yet.

 

Programming of what? The drivetrain is the same as MY12.

 

The system interface with the Track Apps display is now different. That is probably what's requiring some modification to the 2012 code.

 

But isn't that just a new way to view already available data?

 

Just read on Mustangs Daily about the 2013 Track Key. Good news. Sounds like the Track Key is improved for 2013.

Is the Track Key option on all Boss 302's ?

 

A Ford dealer can install TracKey on any Boss. *But* they might not have any clue what the TracKey is depending on who you talk to at the dealership and the frequency of them actually working on these cars.

Try and find the dealer in your area that handles the most volume, they're probably your best bet. You can order the packet direct from Ford Racing and bring it to them if none of them have a clue already.

 

Had the Track Key installed yesterday by Campbell Ford, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. No issue with it as I felt the lopey idle shortly after I drove off. On a 30 miles run (25 miles hwy), felt like back in 70's. Car shaking a bit, detonation, couple backfires when slowing down, just like the good old 70's. Yes, it does kick in very shortly after driving off and it will bling in display.

Now for discrepancy.

Dealer Instructions, para 27 and 30. PCM File name listed is for 2012. 2013 have different one. They had to contact Ford Perf to get that info. Ford plse take note and reissue instructions under version 2.3 with corrected info

2012 - (listed) CR3A-SEMABM-5BC

2013 (Not listed) DR3A-SEMABM-5BB

Pass the info to your tech if u r getting the key installed on 2013.
Took longer than one hour, but got charged only 1 hr.

 

Had mine installed with no problems I love it!!!

 

I’m sure your dealer’s call has alerted the Ford Performance Group to update the info, canadian_mca. Thank you for the info!

I should have read this before I took my car in.

Took it in today to get the Trackey installed !! Now Im driving a loaner . They said that halfway through the process the program crashed. Now they can't get it started again. They have never done one before .
