Is this what these transmission complaints are really about?

Leave the meat hooks at the job site for the cement truck guys. No need to cram and jam. I remember a number of the Bullitt guys saying the same thing with the new shifter in 08.

Try finesse. The transmission wants to shift - you can use your fingers. Just let the detent springs and the gates work for you.

I'm not saying it was the transmission or user error...lol. I just had difficulty twice finding third...thats what I know.

Your info is definitely helpful. I was commenting more on what cdynaco stated. The more I think about it, I definitely tried to force it and not let it find its own way...but only one bad run though. It was a great time!

My experience. Let the shifter lead the way. When I try and guide it I get licked out too.

But then again, meat hooks and meat heads go together.

Oh sorry I was talking about running GOOD times at the track. That finesse stuff probably works for those 14 sec Bullitt passes

Hard to say if its low. Its a different dyno type. Even dyno's of the same type will be read differently.

You would definitely get better numbers in better weather. Heat like that never gives you a good number on a stock car.

One thing our customers with previous experience with our tunes would tell you is how smooth our cars idle and part throttle driveability is. That is what you can expect from our tunes.

what kind of "tune" was done? Do you have any dyno sheets on a Boss without the tune and with just the air intake?
You cant do the Boss with just our intake and no tune. A tune is required or it wont run right.

Is there a point to having launch control if you're putting so much stress on the Torsen?
Does Ford provide a warning against hard launchs?
Here's a kinda sorta answer from Ford. The NYTimes Trackkey article mentions setting the 2-step launch control in 100 RPM increments up to 5000 RPM.

The second numbers is with our cold air intake and custom tune, still on 93 octane. All runs were done in 5th gear. Peak gain was 27 horsepower, max point to point gain was 29 horsepower. I was pretty impressed with it considering how hot it was out down here in Florida.

Hey Gus, any chance I could get a .csv file of the stock run? I want to make a gearing chart for my car.

Set the 2-step at 2000 RPM?

I wasn't quoting it exactly, I was quoting the important part.
