Tire stem caps

Yeah, I know, not even considered a Mod Does anyone have any nice metal ones, preferably in black. I just hate plastic stem caps.

Checked my tire pressure today, got 30.0 and 30.5's. I am going to bring them back up to 35psi. Is this normal, to lose 5psi in a month or so? I guess I will be checking the tire pressure more often.

I checked the oil too, and think I am down probably half a quart. Is that normal?

Yes, and yes, on the normality. Air does escape from the tires, but mainly, it's just temperature differences causing the PSI difference. Once a month is fine to check.

The oil is being sucked in through the PCV valve system, as well as blow by in the rings. It is normal... depending on how long it was since the last oil change, though. One month, no. 500 miles, no way. 3 months/3000 miles? Sure, that may be normalish.

Some have oil catch systems that have to be dumped out when full, which are used with the PCV system, and some have reported quite a bit of oil coming back out through the PCV, and landing in the catch cups. You can look about for those threads for more info.

Thanks for the info. I used a new digital tire pressure gauge my wife bought me. I rechecked the tires an hour later with my analog gauge, and they were reading between 34 and 35 psi. I think the digital might be off a bit?

I have these valve stem caps on my motorcycles and they are superb quality. They make them in all sorts of colors.

Oh, I meant to put in the other post:

I use these on Awesome, because, well, I like them.

Just an example. Way overpriced there, by the way... Then again, I get dealership employee discount, and buy them all out.

/They keep sorta... missing here and there... dunno why...
//Put them on Ride too. Heh.

Suggestion for you...next time you need to replace all four tires, upgrade to metal valve stems (with TPMS built-in). You won't regret it.
