Found one more! - The GT500 SVTPP finned aluminum diff cover. you have to look very carefully to see it here.

There is another underside shot looking forward from the back of the car, but I haven't found it yet.
EDIT: I've found one on FireDragon's SVTPP GT500, see my post below.

What's a finned aluminum diff cover, and how is it different from the diff cover in the vanilla GT?

Here's a shot of FireDragon's SVTPP GT500:

It's a performance diff cover that performs the following functions to make the diff last longer under performance/racing conditions:
- allows for a higher oil capacity for better lubrication
- fins for dumping more heat
- Increased stiffness to better support the diff and bearings for longer life

One less upgrade to purchase, then. Thanks.

hmmm, it doesn't look like I can edit now. Maybe moving the thread does this?

you can't edit posts after a certain amount of time. corvettedreamin dealt with it in his build/Delivered/VIN thread by copying and pasting his list into new posts.

Surprised Ford didn't include a "Boss 302" race helmet. You would need it to enjoy the car on a track!

Dude! That would be awesome. I know helmet manufacturers made special replica helmets for SE models of motorcycles. I have a 2006 Yamaha R-6 Anny Ed and the matching SE Helmet from Arai. Wonderful idea.

If nothing else, I could always get one custom painted.

I don't know if you would call it a change, but it appears that the BOSS 302 uses the V6 Perf Pack strut tower brace.

actually its the same one the 2010 GTs used, probably becuase the need to clear that big intake on the boss. They can use the new fancy one on the 2011 GTs because the intake is lower than the 2010 GTs.

Is this true "11 Pounds of Sound Deadening Removed" for the Boss and not the LS? Pretty much makes it a track only car. Funny how other threads are talking about an electronics package and shaker 1000. Now how is Ford going to recoup all the money they put into this engine? I don't think 3020 units will pay for that. Use it in the Mach 1?

I heard $39K for the Boss and my source said that figure is reliable. And if you think about it, that's probably about right. Most of the Boss goodies are substitutions for parts that are already on the car (engine, wheels, tires, shocks), so it's not like you're paying for them twice like you do when you buy aftermarket parts. Plus, figure in the deleted pieces (fog lamps, sound deadening, etc) and I think $39K is very realistic. Remember, Ford has a lot of R&D money tied up in this car, and the only way they can get it back is to sell them.

Since the Boss is based on the base GT, I doubt it will have any different options than the base GT has and maybe even less. Which is as it should be. If you want gadgets, buy a GT Premium or a GT500.

there will be more than 3020 units. Ford will build as many as people want, likely for the 2012 and 2013 model years.

As Seinfeld said during the opening clip on his tv show- "Limited? Yea, limited to how many they can sell."

If it's not an option on the base GT, it probably won't be an option on the Boss. Check out the base GT equipment at www.fordvehicles.com
