You have to take the front of the car apart, not really that bad and they go on either side of the radiator.

But that should fix the cooling problems............

Back on the TTA subject

1. More spring rate
2. More damper
3. More front camber (negative)
4. Square setup (18x10 for me)
5. mo-betta tires (285s, 275s or 265s?)

Tires are going to be an issue as NOTHING comes within an 1" of the current height. That 1" is going to seriously effect revolutions. Shorter, more technical tracks it may be a positive, longer more HP oriented tracks may run out of revs.

At PPIR, the car tended towards understeer in the tighter sections but was pretty neutral elsewhere. Adjusting the OEM dampers really did nothing. I'm guessing the OEM range is pretty tight based on previous work with Tokico's.

Other than that, locally, I think the car will do well in TTA. Nationally, gonna be REALLY hard to compete with a setup C5 Z06. Seven years of development lead-time is hard to combat.

So it's based in TTA, correct? 295mm width allowed, I'm not sure why you'd want less than that if it's allowed? Should fit fine on a 10" wheel, even a 9.5" would be possible. But you're right on the diameter issue, the 27" thing might look nice, but not many tires out there. Even worse for the Camaros and Challengers, of course...

I'm doing 265/35-18 Ventus RS-3 next year as I'm based in TTC (255), and too many points to go up any further (then I'd be competing with you and the Vettes, and that ain't happening with a 4.6L). I'm actually looking forward to a bit better gearing with the shorter tire, and hopefully more ground effect from the lower ride height.

Are you looking to save points on the tires?

If it's TTA*, you have only 12 points to work with, and the NT01 will eat 7 of those, Hoosier R6 10, but you can earn 4 back by sticking to a 275 tire, or 7 with a 265...

My Tokico D-Specs are supposed to be a step up from the Boss's Illumina-based units, and I don't think mine have much of a fine-tuning opportunity either. And not in the least bit repeatable, either. Wish I had the Konis all along...

.

295s all around and my guess is I'll start seeing handling issues which would cost more points to resolve. The car actually worked well on 285s (stock rear size) and they fit in the front. Saves me a couple of points, and if I don't need 295s, why go to them?

If you look at PPIR, PMP and HPR, the gearing needs for each is different. Even at PMP there was a gearing issue between the carousel (6) and 7 (last part of the S). With the 3.73s, 2nd was too short and a lot of shifting (= time) going to third and back down. Shorter tires would have probably had me in 3rd... but possibly 6th on the front straight. It's all a compromise

I'm looking to save points everywhere so I can run real dampers, springs, etc

Now you are with me

You'll find that turning a **** really won't give you the repeatability you want either.

Of course, I didn't buy the car to win TTA. I bought the car because I wanted it. I'll just make it work in TTA

I have the same issue at PMP and PPIR, found just bumping off the rev limiter was faster than upshift for one second of full throttle, then back downshift. So hoping to run out of gear faster, have to shift, then maybe have a bit more torque from the smaller tires to possibly stay in 3rd gear.

I'm amazed to hear you're getting into 5th/6th at all! I was able to leave it in 3rd all the way around the roval, bounce off the rev limiter at 110 or so, but that produced the higher coolant temps, too, so stopped doing that. But have never been close to running out of 4th gear, never been in 5th on track at all. I'd imagine end of the highway straight at HPR you'll hit 130+, but should still be in 5th then?

Short shifted to 5th for coolant reasons. 125+ into the braking zone at PPIR. I was moving through the banking... no fear

Man, that'd be fun to have the 440HP! I do have some headers to put in soon, though, so at least I'll SOUND faster than you. Quite the car to see out there on the track, though.

The way you put those last two sentences, people might think you kissed the wall or something. What's it in the shop for?

Transmission was leaking. Turns out (as I suspected) that it was leaking from the vent tube. After pulling the transmission (twice), Ford suggested replacing the vent tube valve as they believe it was sticking open.

Dealer Tech also scratched the shift **** and broke / stripped two convertor bolts (guessing exhaust). Was hoping I'd get it back today, but as of 1p.m yesterday the parts were not located

That sucks! What dealer you use? I bought mine at Lakewood Ford, worse bunch of jacka$$es, I've ever met, would never go there again. Not impressed with Omeara, either, though Sill Terhar is usually pretty good. Not in your neighborhood, though.

You doing anything else to the car before HPR?

It's at Groove on Arapahoe. I've had good service (ok, really good when using Brian as the service contact) on my Exploder. Didn't get him this time.

Hoping to get out there prior to NASA to make sure cooling, etc is resolved. If it isn't, then that will drive what gets done prior to it. Might up the brake pads as well... end of the straight at PPIR was iffy... imagine going into 4 or 1 at HPR will produce the same iffyness
