Azoufan made some great points. Im fine with the US personalities & chemistry or lack thereof, but I would just like a little more serious driving in the show. That episode woulda been much better if they skipped the theater bit and spent the extra time on a regular road race.

It would have been great if they had taken the cars out on VIR or another road course. Or, what if Tanner put the Boss against an M3 (he's such a BMW brat) on a road course? That would have been great.

Tanner's buddy, Randy Post, did that last year! And did a much better review than TGUS could ever do!

Yeah, a bit silly, but that's what the show is suppose to be.

Now this I agree with!

The problem with the American Top Gear:
It is SO staged it's not even funny!

yes the "skits" or "stunts" on the BBC Top Gear are often staged too (evidence by how close the "races" or skits they always do are) but the American version takes it to a whole new level. Having Rutledge clearly intentionally slow down to BELOW the speed limit on the road so they wouldn't beat the horse. Just retarded.

The "drag race" segment was a joke.
The slalom while being shocked was pure ridiculous
and the top speed run around Cal Speedway was so set for the Challenger to win too.
Adam in the Mustang saying, "the last time I looked at the speedo it said 141"
Please???
You don't have the cajones to look down at a speedometer on a RACE TRACK on the straight and you are a driver on a car show???

Even the hosts know there show is ridiculously staged, with their comments about the "shock" slalom being torture and Tanner getting an auto Camaro SS and even stating he'd never buy a Camaro SS and surely never buy one with an AUTO!

Get it together American Top Gear, or your show is going to tank very soon!

The speedway segment was beyond ridiculous. I've driven on a speedway in my 1971 Corvette. They wouldn't let us go past the pace car but we fell back and then punched it a few times. I did a bit over 120 mph in the turns and the car was neutral due to the banking. 140+ in a modern car on a speedway is nothing. Yet they were pretending it was this nail biting "oh my god, we're gonna DIE!".

I love TGUK. Not going to watch TGUSA again.
