Boss 302 Seat Covers

Given the cloth nature of the current Boss seats -- query if Ford or Recaro will offer replacement seat covers. Anyone else a bit concerned regarding how the seats will hold up over time. Thanks

ford will undoubtedly offer replacement covers for the seats, they will be crazy expensive though. i needed the lower rear seat leather on an 05 i used to have and the dealer quoted me nearly $1000.

I bought a GT500 as a donor car. I use the seat covers from it to preserve my Boss seats.

As was mentioned, I'm sure they'll offer them. But like all other stock parts...they'll be rediculously expensive. You're better off going aftermarket.

$3K for both seats. You can guess at the price for the covers.

Good work. Bad result. I've seen GT500 take offs for less than $1400/pair. I'd like to do something like that since then I could store the OEM seats until the day comes that I don't put 15-20,000 miles a year on it. Mine's a little fuzzy on the leading edge where I drag myself in and out of it.

<tap tap tap> hello, hello, is this thing on?

I posted about Katzkin working on custom high quality leather seats, and at SEMA, they modeled the graphics on a Comp Orange Boss 302 seat. NOT a Recaro, I know, but a recovered cloth Boss seat.

I was flamed and the seats were flamed and generally hated.

If anyone is interested, here is the link...

F me. Paying even $1K for both recaro's cloth makes me want to get regular cloth and have someone sew in BOSS 302.

For that amount of $, take your stock seat out, put it away for safe keeping, and by a nice racing seat with the proper mounting points for the anti-submarine strap.

Im sorry but those are the ugliest thing i have ever seen. I rather pay $3k for the Ford racing seats. Plus those seats look pretty sweet with the Ford Racing logo on it.

Or we can just wait for someone else to flip there Boss and fight over getting those seats.

It's not that I HATE the seats, I love the seats. It's the asymmetrical striping on the seats that turns me off. Those seats with a different color leather with a smaller centered BOSS 302 would be great IMO.

Hey Long Beach, I kicked the tires on your car here at Jim Burke Ford before you picked her up. That is an awesome color combo in person - mad respects since Roush uses those colors on the #61 Junior drives.

That being said, I agree those seats would look better at a SEMA display than on a real car - I believe grabbing attention was the purpose of the colors and graphics.

But since this thread is about nicer seats for Boss Mustangs, it just makes sense that someone like Katzkin has been thinking about a solution for you all.

With all the negative feedback from so many Boss owners on the thread and the article, it is highly unlikely that Katzkin will invest the time and money into pursuing it.

I just feel that the knee-jerk reaction to the wild design might have killed the whole idea. And now that some Boss owners are looking for nicer seats for their $41k cars, Katzkin might only be an option now as a full custom order $$$$$$$.
