It's too useful an option not to offer. First of all, it is another nail in the coffin for the aftermarket, as most owners would rather have the factory warrantied tune, plus the ability to change back to stock just by using another key. Besides the engine's throttle tune, other features such as launch control and skip shift deactivation are useful for performance oriented driving. TracKey is spiritual opposite of the BMW valet key, and more in keeping with the BMW "M" button which increases engine performance when activated. I like the whole key thing more than a button, it's a more purposeful and clean approach to increased tuning performance.

what I hope the TK will bring is this:
"yes, Mr. Buyer the xxxx Mustang gets 30+mpg Monday thru Friday commute,
then when you want more HP/TQ use the TK get get 100+ more HP/TQ for the weekends...."

Sometimes it's just wishfull thinking
. I just spent my Trackey cash ($400.00) on a new wing and paint for the car. I can honestly say that it make a differance in looks even without 93 octane. I just wish that all I heard about TK is WOW what a differance. I wonder how that will affect sales of the Boss & Trackey for 2013.

I was thinking about a poll that would gauge opinions of people that have the program and if the rest will still get or are backing out of the program. I will throw that up.

[QUOTE=2012YellowBoss;6177113]I don't think too many people feel that way. Most people who are unhappy with TK still say the Boss is a great car, including me.
That is good to hear. From some of your posts, I was wondering if your experience with TK had ruined the Boss for you. Still better than anything else out there for the price.
I am really hoping that some aftermarket shop will be able to provide a tune that takes advantage of trackey and improves the power. As always Ford can do a lot with their Ford Racing aftermarket parts, but to really push the envelope, you need to go to those that will sell non 50 state legal parts.

Ford has already completed all the dual path PCM software code, "enjoyed" 10 months of marketing hype at auto shows, track cars and magazine reviews, submitted the code to CARB for approval (gotta have the 50 states legal sticker), had to modify the code to provide "a little less valve overlap" to get approval and is now collecting $300 a copy for those who want it. There is no further capital expenditure on Ford's part (other than say some damage control as to how poorly the whole program was handled). Why would they not continue to offer this option to a buying public if it does not cost them anything? I see no reason for them to stop offering TK. The economics are certainly in their favor if you choose to drop your money on their offering.

Jerkstore, I share your sentiment and hope someone else will finish the product to the feature level originally envisioned and hyped by the Ford marketing types.

Yup I want to share my track key experience. I heard everyone bagging on it -- and I understand. It was a long time waiting. Maybe I'm just lucky. But I went to the dealer anyway with the attitude of "whatever happens happens" Wholly crap Batman, I noticed a mega difference and I'm pleased.
If you expect 5 zillion HP then keep being cranky.
If you expect the response to be better -- then get it.
At least for me I've got the cool lope of course, but with that the engine braking was much more noticeable and the throttle response was Night vs. Day. Is it a CAI + tune? NO, but it's cool and it's under warranty. Bit expensive but worth it for me.
