NEWS:
Just received a call from Ford Customer Service. Long and short of the conversation is this:
1. NO Bosses have shipped.
2. All Bosses and new Explorers are receiving a Quality Inspection. But she said that it was not for an issue on the Bosses, but rather more of a final check for the Bosses due to their limited numbers and high visibility. She also said that the plant said that they are moving much more quickly on inspections now, and that the inspections of the Bosses are occurring on Ramp 5P (where some of our were updated to yesterday).
3. I asked specifically when they would be released for shipment. I asked if it was hours, days, months or years; she said that although the plant would not give her an exact time, she expected on the order of a couple of days.
Talked to her for about 10 minutes. After all this, I expect that our Bosses will be released for shipping in a couple to a few days (barring any problems discovered).

Yeah, after all this, I wasn't cutting the poor gal any breaks. I was professional with her, but it was still like the Spanish Inquisition.
Also asked enough questions to really get a handle on a timeline, even though the plant wouldn't be specific. Everything that she said would lead me to believe that it would be just a couple of days to a week AT MOST.
Took the time to explain to her also that at least us hard core customers don't sweat delays, but rather THE LACK OF INFORMATION AND UPDATES. Told her that Vehicle Vis works, and we know what it is, but when the plant doesn't update it for 10 days on a car already built, we tend to get pissed.

So does she mean no new Explorers at all, because my sister and her husband took delivery of one last Saturday so I can safely tell you that at least one has shipped (actually at least 4 new Explorers at the same dealer have sold already).

Yes, and my dealer has received some as well. Obviously, my focus with her was not the Explorers, but my understand from our conversation was that it was Explorers that had not yet left Flat Rock. As they inspect them, and if they pass, they ship them.
Just for everyones information, delivery dates that we can see in the Ford system are week of dates. The date of delivery is rarely to the exact day, usually within 1 week but can be up to 2 weeks after.
My VVS has not updated since March 25th.
It read:
Priamary: In Transit
Secondary: Received - At131 (Tran Tech )
Location: Ramp 59, Dearborn Truck, MI
Status Date: Mar-25-2011, 08:30 ET
ETA: Apr-04-2011
Has any body heard of the shipper Tran Tech?
Are they a trucking or rail hauler?
Anyway to track them?
thank, Jeff
