No Sync in the Boss 302?!?!? WHAT?!?!?
Nice pics, I need to look into them. Any direct link to where you bought them. The ones at American Muscle got bad reviews and I have heard the Roush ones are better. I was looking at these (and others) but quite a bit more then your price.

I have had the Sync for a short time in the F150 and it really works great. No biggie for me in the Boss, I would not mind having it but will not miss it.

Louvers were purchased thru Amazon. I had no issues with mine other than I repainted them once. Used semi gloss black in a can. Came out beautiful! They are kind of a pain to take off. 4 thumb screws and it helps if you have a second person to pick them up, all though it is not required. Brackets are held on with double sided tape. Follow directions and all will go well. I just like the looks of the 7 slats, compared to the 6 wider and bigger slats of the roush brand.
Maybe for 2013 they will expand to the electronics pakage and shaker 500. I can see not offering the other stuff.they could program some features into the nav like track data logging for maps of the tracks. Even give you the ability to spit it out onto a usb for review. Plus it would increase the cars functionality as a daily driver.

agreed...this is an all out track/performance car. Not supposed to be a luxo DD. The GT500 is also a track car with luxo...but it costs at least $10k more!!
BTW-Look at what happend to Subaru and the STI...started out with no radio and sound deadening and now Subaru listened to all the whining about noise, no usb, no leather, no roof, and...well just search 2008-2011 STI and look at the performance reviews and how they dropped
along with losing all the original demographic of the car. Sure thay actually sell more by whoring to the masses, but it also diluted the car to a semblance of what it was
My 06 was the last of the great STI's and so that's why I love the Boss, no BS just performance

I'm trying to think my way through this.
I retro-fitted my AVIC-X920BT to my 08 car that was installed with the S1000, which, as we all know, you can not get navigation with. So, I purchased a PAC C2r-FRD1 application to wire the unit into the car, which was pretty much plug and play.
Now, when you have the basic setup, if you used the FRD1 unit, so, I"m wondering if the FRD1 would work the same way with the factory nav unit to plug it into the factory harness w/o the sync, etc.

Dude just get a TomTom or Garmin if you want Nav that bad. Cheap and effective.
Agreed, a V1 and possibly an air traffic control radar unit for identifying low flying planes that the highway patrol likes to use in my state for speed enforcement.
I do believe that the standard stereo has an input for your i-pod, so you can at least have all of your favorite tunes available on the track.

So, at it's basic, the above, a good head unit, speaker replacements. Much better sound and interface without adding any weight. Great for us that are going to be using this as a daily driver for the next five or six years.
Yes, this car will be base GT all the way. So, I'm hoping that Scosche has their unit out soon.

i think this is the one failing as ford continues to compare this car to the M3, the M gives you all the performance with the nav and other goodies available as options. I cant imagine the shaker 500 and nav would alter the driving dynamics significantly. but ford is gonna sell every single one they make so it doesnt really matter, i would love to buy one but dont want to give up the nav in a DD. someone else will get a great car that fits their desires more.
Remember, the Boss 302 is a "race car with a license plate" to quote the Ford suits. If you are looking for an M3 competitor with Mustang appeal, go for a Brembo GT in Premium guise. Me, all I want is a track ready chassis and lots of power. Comfort be damned!
