You're exactly right which is why I didn't order a Boss. I purchased a high option GT. I want more of a street car than a track car as I only tend to do HPDE's several times a season.

 

I am extremely disappointed that the Boss is not offered with SYNC, Leather, Nav, HIDs, etc. I passed on a few GREAT deals on loaded GT500’s so I could get the “rumored” Boss. My plan was to order a Boss with these options the day the order banks opened. I feel it should be my option to decide if these parts fit MY intended use of MY vehicle. It should also be me my prerogative to pay near GT500 prices for a Boss. The fact that the Boss is not offered with these options will likely cost Ford my business in the near future.

 

I'd have an order for a Boss right now if I could have got Sync and HID. Even with the stupid white roof on Kona Blue.

If you had "GREAT deals" before, you should find even better deals once the Boss goes "on sale". Existing inventory of GT500's is high, think of all those buyers being diverted to Boss already.

 

Wow really? I'm going to miss SYNC but that didn't stop me. HID's are an easy aftermarket upgrade although not as good as the ones Ford uses. There are plenty of BT speaker phones that work well although not as good as SYNC. The white roof can be painted. The sound system will sound best with the windows rolled down.

I read on another forum that there are many components that get installed with SYNC in multiple locations and the cost would be prohibitive to install it after the car is built.

 

Am I the only one that remembers life before cell phones? We still got by and lived. I like having one but but I would survive without it or at the very least while I am in the car.

Again even if the original Boss had options the whole idea of this car is not options, it is to be driven and hard. I respect the opinions here but I would rather drive the Boss then talk on the phone.

I did not mean that in a bad way, just trying saying the lack of bells and whistles does not take away from the what the car is all about I would like to do a few appearance upgrades myself. I am even thinking about going with a set of louvers on for the retro look. That will depends if I can find a good rattle free set. Already have a spoiler waiting to go.

 

That may be true; however, I get cut off daily by a half-dozen ******** that would say the same thing until their wife calls them to pick up milk on the way home.

 

...but with the Boss I plan to get ahead of them before I get cut-off

 

I do, back in the day I relied on The Pony Express for long distance and pigeon's and smoke signals for local communication....

I already have a set of louvers sitting in the garage ready to install on the Boss. I have them on my other S197 and really like them. I purchased Astra Hammond louvers. Aluminum, 7 slats. High quality. Cost me about $340 to my door. The only issue is they do not tilt up to clean. You have to take 4 hold down nuts off and lift off the entire unit. And have not heard a rattle, even at 130 + ......
