Nicest thing said to me about the Boss
I'm having some renovations done at home, some of which involves work in the garage. To keep the dust off the car I put on my yellow cover craft cover on. After seeing how much dust was in the garage from minor work and knowing they were going to remove Sheetrock on one of the walls I decided it best to take the cover off so as not to have it embedded with all that dust. So the many contractors who came through only saw a car under cover up to that point. I replaced the cover with a clear plastic drop cloth. I only was present when one of them finally saw what was under there. His reply... "It's yellow". Classic, loved it.
Whoa... what is that?
Pulled into Shell station for fill up, there was was a pickup already filling up on the inside lane of the outside set of pumps, so I had to pull past him and leave enough room so he could pull out when he was done. Doing this my Boss is 'sticking out' a little bit, facing the Shell building, which also has a Subway and Dunkins inside.
Just as I'm finishing my fill up, guy comes out with his sub and a soda, and heads towards his pickup truck parked over to the side of the pumps. He stops dead in his tracks and does a double take after he reads my vanity plate '302BOSS' and just looks up at me and smiles.
He asked 'when did they start making these?', and I told him 4000 last year and this year. Then he asked 'does this have a big block in it?' perhaps he's thinking of the Shelby, and told him that no it's just a high performance version of the small block 302. I had just finished filling the tank, so I started it up and blipped the throttle, which was good for a thumbs up before he headed back to his pickup.
So this wasn't much of a nicest thing said, but stopped him dead in his tracks that I'll always remember about this trip to the gas station yesterday.

A person can't be too sensitive posting on here. You don't even need to leave yourself wide open for comment and someone finds a way to zing you. LOL. I find it entertaining but it makes me a little reluctant to post. Not saying I'm sensitive but look what happen to this thread.

My sales manager told me that his boss (the dealership owner) is ordering a white Boss because he loved mine! He wanted RR but he knows I've got it so he went with PW instead! LOL

Several weeks ago I was making my Sunday Dunkins run, and filling up the Boss. I was just finishing the fill when a pickup truck pulled into the parking lot, and driver stopped diagonally in front of me and leaned out the window and we had good conversation. He said he'd never seen one like this before, wanted to know when I got it, what it was, etc. Said that he had a buddy that had '70 back in the day. He also said that he raced a Miata on the track back in California, and really loves track capable cars.
He grabbed a few pix with his iPhone and I popped the hood, and fired it up as I was getting ready to leave. After we shook hands, he thanked me for spending the time to show him the car, I thought to myself 'no, thank you for reminding me how fortunate I am'. It's always great to meet new people from all walks of life, young and old that like Mustangs.
Then the following week I was headed to Manchester to have lunch and few drafts with my friends. My TPMS sensor went off again, I have a slow leak in my left rear that requires attention about ever 7-10 days. For this reason I keep a DC powered portable compressor in my trunk to avoid having to feed quarters into a service station pump. I pulled down a side street where there was no traffic to pull over to the curb, get out the compressor, and fill up the tire. Before I can get started, a panel side pickup truck coming the other way stops next to me, more chat about the Boss. This time I heard that the driver used to have an '04 Cobra, etc.
It's been a great 5 months with the Boss so far, and it will certainly be missed when I take it off the road soon for winter hibernation.

Took my Boss out to a little car show today in Pordenone, Italy. I couldn't believe how many people swarmed the car for pictures. It was American cars and quite a few classics, she was in good American made company today. I was surprised at how many older muscle cars were there. On the way out I was stopped a few times and asked to rev it up, the Italians definitely like the Boss!

You probably wouldn't believe how many there are around the base. It is really cool when I am driving somewhere and there aren't many around though.
The best complement I have received *by far* was at the SCCA race at Barber Motorsports Park on Saturday 9/1/2012. I was a spectator at the event and had driven my car in the paddock and around the track to various vantage points. During a quiet break between races the following announcement was made over the track PA system:
“To the owner of the yellow BOSS 302 …. Sean says to give you a big thumbs up … that car ‘rocks it’.”
Needless to say, that really made my day !!!!!
There are speakers in the paddock and all around the track and the PA is very loud at Barber. When the announcement began I thought he was going to tell me to move the car as I had been asked to move from that spot at a previous event when some construction was in progress.
