Congrats on having attended what must be a super event. The rest of us have to sign up. And a special thanks to Ford for making this all possible: Bringing back the Boss 302 - Another Better Idea from Ford!

Warren, thanks for the great review. How was the food at the dinner and were there any Ford reps present to discuss the development of the Boss? Any other SWAG? I'm all set for August 31st.

The food at the dinner reception was good also. Rolls, salad, corn, green beans, really tender beef, watermelon, cookies. Unfortunately, there were no Ford reps there. I was hoping there would be...

Yes, there was other swag:
- a pair of G-Force racing gloves
- t-shirt with the Boss Track Attack logo on the front and back
- small spiral bound notepad with assorted Ford Racing pics on the covers
- assortment of stickers (Track Attack, MMP, Performance Friction)
- MMP license plate frame

Very nice. The Track Attack program states that a Ford Rep will discuss the development of the Boss 302 or something like that. Probably not that big a of a deal since most of that info is already available. Maybe they will pick that up in the future. A few TMS and BMO members and I met with Mark Wilson at Laguna Seca in July and he spent almost two hours with us going over development and discussing differences between the 302 race and street cars so I'm good on that anyway.

For those planning on going, I also suggest staying closer to the track if you don't plan on doing anything in Salt Lake City and want to save yourself the extra trip(s) to and from SLC for the evening reception and Day 2 (if you do both days). It's 30 minutes each way, and I did notice a number of police cars during my trips to and from the track.

Are there hotels East of the airport between it and the track? I didn't think there was much out that way unless you go South. Then again it's been a decade since I've been there.

(a lot of great info...)
Wonderful write-up, and quite accurate from my perspective as the guy who is selling this stuff. I responded to another thread regarding advanced driving techniques...you are correct in pointing out the second day will be where guys will really pick this up. Like all other schools I've attended day one teaches fundamentals and day two cements them with continuous lapping. Even better if you have a friend to drive against! I'm jealous of y'all...what a great car, and kudos to Ford for allowing MMP to be a part of it.

One car did have some issues (possibly overheating) at one point during the class, but I don't know what really happened since I was not involved.

They are aware of the overheating issue and are doing what they can to deal with it (hence the grill, radiator and removal of the a/c condenser). I think that's why they are also keeping 2 spare Bosses available.

I'm hoping the radiator will do it. I will be testing it on 8/25.

It was my car that overheated, it was doing fine and then all of a sudden the temp started climbing, had popped the fan fuse, which was ok since they immidiatly put me in another boss, so got to drive two different ones on the track, both cars seemed identical to me

just a added note it was in the mid 90's and with the mile high altitude was not the greatest conditions, you don't need to shift the boss on this track, ran it pretty hard in third gear for quite a few laps and no issues, then they asked me to use 4th so I would not be spinning the motor at such sustained high rpm, 4th was no problem though on this track, plenty of torque off the corners

Do the MMP cars have the upgraded radiator and the 302S grill installed?
