My new BOSS #0766 MD/DC/VA

This is my first post here on the Mustang Source.

Ive been obsessing so much over the BOSS since I found out about it over last winter. I knew this was a very special car and I had to have it. I was very discouraged with the ADM pricing on these cars, and thought I wouldn't be able to find one for the right price. Several dealers in my area were pulling the "bait and switch" and it was extremely difficult even seeing one in person. By the time I would get to the dealer the car was long gone.

I used my Iphone and the "cars.com" app to alert me whenever there was a new 2012 BOSS 302 listed. It alerted me of a new local listing for a Race Red Boss 302 at Koons Sterling Ford in Northern Virginia.

Seeing it in person gave me goosebumps. It is such a kick *** car. After some firm negotiating, I got the price I wanted. They were asking 5k over, but money talks. I am the proud owner of #0766, and its got both options. Ive logged about 600 miles now since late August. The car is absolutely amazing, and is a real thrill to drive. I have not seen another BOSS in my area yet, but Im sure there are a few tucked away.

I plan to uncork the side pipes and possibly tune the exhaust note with another set of plates with a bigger hole than stock. I really am pleased with everything and have no serious modification plans. I wanted a car that I could leave alone, and that was a complete package from the factory. Kudos to Ford for making my dream Mustang!!!

Nice! Congrats! Scott can hook you up with the side pipe plates if you want to try different levels of sound.

Glad the deal worked out for you

I've been very happy with the 3/4 in plates from Scott. They are easy to change.

I will probably do some audio mods, but that's it.

I am in Silver Spring. I never thought of Chevy Chase like that lol. Hopefully we will cross paths, I frequently use Jones Bridge Road on my way home if 495 is a mess.

I did 4 years in Silver Spring during law school- 99-2003. After 9/11 and the Beltway sniper, I was ready to move back to the midwest.

I lived off East-West and 16th, and I would have been aprehensive to have my rig parked outside that area now all day/night.

Small world. I'm in the neighborhood near East-West and Grubb. We should arrange a coffee and Bosses at the Parkway deli.

Rob,
Congrats on your Boss
Race Red owner as well.
I have yet to see another Boss on the road as well.
I opened up my restrictor plates to 3/4" & am happy with the tone.

I agree with you completely and know that location very well. Its a good thing my neighborhood (up Rt29 a bit) is off the beaten path and away from Downtown Silver Spring.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome, complements on my pictures, and advice on the exhaust plates. I can tell this will be a great place to feed my BOSS obsession

Are you using that temp lisence plate holder with wing nuts.
If it's the same one I have , be careful with bolts sticking out the front ,I scratched my leg pretty good trying to get by the front end in garage.
I'm gonna either trim them down or get caps for them.

Yep, its the Craigs Custom Brackets plate holder. I will make sure to trim the plastic hardware down just to be safe. Thanks for the heads up!

Don't want to jinx myself, but I've had my car since March and have never mounted my plate on the front of the car. The plate is on a Craig's custom bracket in my trunk just in case, though. So far, I haven't been pulled over or ticketed.
