LS Splitter voids warranty

On the Ford website it mentions a disclaimer that in effect says using the Laguna Seca splitter may void the warranty. I wonder what's up with that? I know the splitter is not street legal, but that shouldn't void the warranty.

I don't think they can get away with that. How does it void the warranty, by reducing engine cooling? If so, the worst case scenario would be that a claim for engine damage could be denied. But I don't see how they could void the entire warranty. The LS splitter would have no effect on the power trunk release, for example. I know Ford is one of the most chintzy manufacturers when it comes to warranty, but I really don't see how that would fly.

I haven't read the website, but what warranty did they refer to specifically? At least in this case, they are up front about it unlike the GT500 clutch problem.

Perhaps Ford decided a track ready car does not merit a warranty as the 2K Cobra R, which I believe carried no warranty.

It doesn't say specifically. Click the "Read More" link on the following:

you can't void a warranty because "you think" someone is racing their car, in that case everyone with an aftermarket wing would have their warranty voided. I have a gt500 wing, my warranty is still intact, I know, i'm a rebel
